Upgrading hi spec brakes

I have hi spec 4 pot billet brakes on the front of my chim. They are 283mm diametre under 15 inch estorils. I have just bought a full set of 16 inch imolas and there is now about an inch of extra clearance between the caliper and wheel.
I would like to improve the braking further. Is it just a case of buying a new caliper carrier bracket, some bigger disks and thats it. If yes what bracket and what disks ?

Depending what's in there already, but I'd go for a simple pad upgrade if I was looking to improve performance. I really can't see an extra inch making any difference.....just don't tell the Mrs that!
Thanks for the post, cant upgrade pads much already running DS2500.we run 300mm x 28mm discs on the front with 6 pot graduated cylinders all from hispec they are very powerfull and have never overheated or faded even with nick driving on track days they just fit under the 15in imolas car now has 17in wheels all round

Others on here have fitted e38 BMW four pots with 324mm RS Focus discs under 16" wheels with spacers, which by all accounts work very well.
If you are fitting 16" Imolas all round are you planning to dispose of your Estoril wheels? I would be interested in buying them off you, assuming a pair each of 15" & 16" wheels.

If you want a new Hi-Spec caliper bridge kit to enable the caliper halves to be spaced to run thicker discs, give me a shout - have a set of the central spacers, seals and longer bolts that are surplus - acquired with he intention of using Focus RS 324mm rotors that I think are 28mm thick. No longer needed as I ended up going AP Racing 330s

Lovely and yes I think the RS 324mm are 28 mm thick.

I can't take the credit as a great guy ( Alexdaredevils) was the chap who originally came up with this mod. I just copied it with the help of COG posts on the subject and his very helpfull links to various suppliers. I got very lucky with the quality of my second hand calipers as they appear almost new and we're fully resealed etc. I still can't work out how I got £1500 calipers for £365 incl brackets and fitting kit.
With Ferrari written on them they can fetch big bucks in the states etc
Brilliant brakes, in one stroke made the car 30% better.
Highly recommended if you can get them under your rims. 324 mm discs.

Brembo best brakes in the world.
How much did you pay for those race calipers that won't last two months in bad weather. Feeble ruddy things.
Bodge. How do you work that out. Bespoke brackets, correct bolts and fitting kit. All yours for £365 + £35 genuine E 38 pads and Brembo Focus RS 324mm discs at £100.
Less than £500 all in,,,,, I've checked £509
Best brakes in the world and these very calipers are fitted to Ferrari and Porsche FFS
Quality that only AP can match,,, see im nothing if not fair,,, but I got the same thing as you for less than half the price and mine look better, which is the most important thing

What stops those pad pins from rattling.
Brembo use spring loaded tensioners.
18 months in and many thousands of miles later I've had no trouble with the Brembo set up. Pads and discs have barely worn, another mod you can fit and forget for years once you've set them up with plenty of copper slip. No squeals.
The caliper bodies are a thicker casting from the others I've looked at, road use and on supercars weight isn't really a problem, this is very important in my mind as they are robust and in themselves nullify vibration.

I haven't touched these brakes for over a year, very enjoyable giving them a clean though.
If your brake pedal isn't like a good driving sim pedal set up it's not Brembo or AP racing.
If you lock these brakes you are heavy handed and not worth a salt.
You can regulate these to a finite degree. I just use them daily so barely touch the things but with practice you could play mr ABS master for fun. I've took them to the tyre's slipping point and danced on them. Better than excellerating almost. The foot pressure seems at one with the pad pressure applied and on big discs are so powerful the days of pushing the brake pedal against the force are well gone. I'm under using the hydraulics as it takes little pressure to brake very hard, fluid stays cooler and they are fabulously consistent.

Sorry for hijacking your thread Blaze but as you know these things are high quality and will take some beating.
After all we all want the best to save wasting money and if you can go larger front wheels or make 16's fit( which can be gone ) these are the business for road use as they just get on with the job quietly which is more than can be said for so many others especially race bred caliper/ pad combinations.
Willwood rears for example rattle like bad tambourine players and are a joke, who cares racing but on grit filled filthy roads rattling along is stupid.
Chilli's brakes, what's stopping those pads rattling about on the pins, am I missing something?
I hope so as they look great but if race bred set ups rattle after awhile they just send you insane.
