While my Cerb was having it's chassis done and engine rebuilt (by str8six & HHC) I have to admit that I fell a little bit out of love with the car.

I have it back now and even while running in, the love has returned. There is simply nothing like a Cerbera.

I've learned a few things during my 18yrs of ownership, as you sound like you'll be keeping your car exactly as I keep mine now - outdoors, on the NE coast etc etc, I'd be happy to give you a heads up on what to expect.

Think I'll go out for a blast now actually, have to get another 400 miles on the clock before it's officially run in and I can use it naughtily again. evil

That's looks incredible. Where are you based? I'd love to get the heads up on what to expect from an owner of 18 years.

Byff Sir you are a legend. Appreciate you taking me out and even letting me have a spin. I should be working this afternoon but now I'm frantically looking through the classifieds. I owe you a beer mate.

Haha 100% absolutely loved it. The noise and the smell really got me more than anything.

You're more than welcome, like I said, going out for a spin was better than having to clean the garage out hehe
Haha that's what I've been doing today. Hopefully, if my measurements are correct there's now a Cerb shaped space waiting to be filled.

Quick update nothing major to report went to test drive a Cerb that a few people on here are aware of on a Q plate. The car was a credit to it owner and in great condition. Despite the price (14k I think) I just couldn't live with the Q plate and the log book claiming the car was a Ford Quantum I think it said, so the search continues.

I did, however, unearth this when scanning the classifieds at lunch a 4.5 for 18k, seems like a bargain but I'd need my brave pills as it's done over 90k. https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

I've sent the seller a message to find out a bit more, anyone on here know the car?

How much did you say you have to spend stu? From a superficial look that yellow one definitely looks a better bet than the Q one which throws up trouble before you’ve even bought it; if you’re dubious about buying it think how someone else will feel when you’re trying to offload it.
Budget is 20-25k but I’d prefer to keep it nearer the 20 if possible. That was my thoughts entirely about the Qreg

Bloody hell, that’s the first time I’ve looked at PH classifieds in a while, is that really where prices are now?! That purple one with 54k for £24k stands out though, is that worth going to see?
Yea I agree that looks the standout car, I think it's worth a visit for sure.

Did you look at the yellow Cerb in South Yorkshire, no good?
I didn't not sure yellow was the colour for me but I just noticed this has been reduced to 20k which does seem very cheap for a 4.5 in the current market. https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

I passed your house the other day and wondered if you'd taken the plunge yet.

The yellow one does look nice but if it's too bright for you, this one looks quite nice...

Nope still just the little Mazda 2 on the drive, I've been and looked at 3 now all very different, one I was very close to going for but changed my mind maybe I'm just too fussy.

This is my old car, it's dirt cheap for what it is and I can't understand why it's not shifting. If anything perhaps the interior has seen better days, it would probably benefit from a new carpet set to lift the interior a bit. I spent 15k on that car in 3 years bringing it up to standard mechanically, full respray etc.
Thanks for the info Rob much appreciated

So last night browsing Facebook I come across this beauty previously for sale for 25k in Feb time now reduced to 18k as the guy has bought a Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio.

The car is located in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire does anyone on here know the car or know of someone in that area who would be able to inspect the car for me?

Its a 99 4.2 with 66k no engine rebuilt and original chassis but outriggers have been done so I'm told. The bloke has also serviced the car himself for the last 3 years. Here's the advert below:

Tvr.
Owned for just over 3 years and have dedicated myself to keep, maintain and greatly improve this iconic sports car.
Regardless of money I have attended to every aspect of this car replacing parts which superseded the originals... main things would be complete gearbox and rear diff overhaul during last winter. Car is only used summer months.... classic is cleaned treated and painted and protected after each summer out diggers have been replaced. Engine MINT. Tuned by kits and classics. All parts bought from tvr race tech. Just installed amp sub head unit. Car has app diagnostic hard wear installed to ecu..... Bluetooth enabled. New plugs leads potentiometers with new throttle bearing kit.... great addition that.... New coil packs throttle bar rose joints.... oils changed yearly. Wheels powder coated black with gold flake... Windows tinted.... all new brakes... handbrake shoes cables spring set pads fluids 5.1 gulf racing... window runner felt replaced and capitilar bearing line fully greased..... this car must have the smoothest and fastest Windows of any cerb out there!!! Lol.. New this summer fully gaz gold adjustable suspension with car being weighted set up at Rob Boston racing. Many more extras... many hrs spent... result being a totally sorted tvr cerbera. Good years all round on this one... detailed engine bay. Straight through custom exhaust.. I do have cats to put on car.

Reading that description, English isn't his first language? biggrin

There aren't many major items done, how were the outriggers replaced? Needs to be a body off otherwise it's a bodge.
Straight through exhaust will be very loud if thats what it is.

If it's local it's worth a look, just because otherwise you'll be wondering, just have a very good look...

Major jobs as in engine and chassis you mean? It's not local really it's about a 6-hour return trip for me. I've been told the outriggers were replaced with custom protectors by a previous owner who was a fabricator with pictures in the history file to show.

The longest search known to man continues and I'm a bit fed up my wife's 1.3 Mazda 2 isn't really doing it for me! The 99 4.2 above I was really interested in. I prefer the spiders and the Tuscan lights for starters the colour was right up my street and the car seemed too good to be true. Given my inexperience with TVR's I asked the seller if I could get the car and particularly the chassis inspected by RT racing and unfortunately, he's declined so I've withdrawn my interest.

I've found myself looking at everything and anything this lunchtime including M3's again and 911's, maybe TVR and I are destined never to happen!! The hunt goes on

Probably a bit late now, but if Julian at Kits and Classics knows this car ring him, he'll give you an honest assessment, also have you ever stated a budget because MikeinSheffield's old Cerb is for sale and at just under £30k looks decent value to me.
I don’t think I have I was hoping 25k max but could increase slightly for the right car. Do you have a link to the add?

As for ringing Jules I did think that however he wouldn’t have inspected the chassis properly I wouldn’t imagine and it was a while ago he worked on it.

Links not allowed, but it's in Dinnington £29,990, late 4.2, I've been a passenger in this car and it was very quick
Looks lovely but 30k is stretching it I think even with a PhD in man maths.
