parts in a box - help me ID them & saxo power steering
Discussion
I've had the cerebra several months but is a non starter whilst I go about general repairs and have now found the air con pulley and original power steering pump have been removed.
When I bought the car it came with a box full of parts like old lights, old/spare saxo steering pump etc.....
Can anyone explain which pulley is the correct one for the air con? I assume the single pulley and there's also a mysterious relay looking part with no part numbers that I have no idea what it does/where it goes, finally is the double-pulley which again I've no idea where it came from
My installed saxo power steering pump starts up and makes a whine and has 12v going to it but has zero effect on the steering, it was ok for the first 2 months or so and gradually got worse before not working at all. On the spare one in the picture I noticed there's a plastic coupler between the saxo motor and pump (both are male spades) and wondered if they typically rounded and therefore stopped pumping?
I'm keen to keep it original and think about buying and installing the original PS pump and modify the female housing as mentioned on here by fitting 3 grub screws to help support the keyway - good or bad idea? I don't know which one people find better.

Took me a while to appreciate that the point of the small grub screw in line with the Woodruff key is to act as a backstop, and prevent the coupling moving towards the front of the engine and disengaging
I chose to fit a larger grub screw opposite the Woodruff key because there was a bit of play in mine following the failure
However the most important thing you can do is fit a plate to protect the exposed coupling from debris
Huge thank you to the very generous PHer who made and sent me this one

Hi Ukkid
Yours is the post I read. Thanks for the extra info.
I take it the grub screw solved your problems? Also didn't you relieve the high pressure outlet to a wider diameter? How did that affect steering?
Anyone know if the cerbera PAS pump is a bog standard LR pump? Could do with a part number seeing as mine is missing!

Yes, been working perfectly ever since, and no change to any of the hydraulicsYours is the post I read. Thanks for the extra info.

The pump is a standard LR Classic unit which I think is QVB101110 and weighs about a pound
There's a used one made by ZF on eBay #311954448353 now for £55
New ones seem to be about twice that, although there seem to be Bosch branded pumps for £400+

anyone know the bolt size and length as these are missing too....
When dismantling, I have noted mine down as: 1x M8 (x1.25) x 20mm Cap head + spring washer
1x M10 (x1.5) x 25mm Hex head + spring washer
1x M10 (x1.5) x 30mm Cap head + special plain washer 10 x 20 x 3.5
As I didn't note which went where, it must be self evident, for starters the one with the plain washer must be the one in the adjusting slot...
HTH
EDIT: I mistook the question and on reflection realise that the OP wanted mounting bolt sizes for the pump assy. Those above are for the AC belt tensioner.

as ever thnx.
So the PAS pump has arrived and is original and look sin good condition. As I mentioned before the previous owner(s) removed the old PAS pump and so I now realise that there is an adapter flange to connect pump to shaft.
Picture below of internet explains it, I don't have the part in red. I've looked for it on line, and I should have picked up on it sooner from Ukkid's pictures, but obviously need it. Any sources?
