I have had it fitted for about 18 months to 2 years.
I keep it on an Optimate conditioner in the garage so it is always ready for service. Have left it off charge at the mech workshop but not in the cold like now. It will die quickly if a light is left on for any length of time so Im careful and have whipped all bonnet/door bulbs out to be on the safe side.
It is -tiny- and weighs about 1.5 kilos but seems to cope with starting ok. Any long journey I would be inclined to get one of those pocket batteries as a backup in case...

Eta, the chap demonstrated it on an American V8 truck which it started without too much fuss

I fitted this:

to my race car, opted for it because of the high (680) cranking amps although my car only has a 2.2 4 pot, it seems to want a chunky wedge of torque to start it.
Only weighs a 1.4 kilos, less than the 18kg battery it replaced!
Do you run a standard alternator charging system on your race car, or do you run the battery 'total loss'?
I was under the impression that a Lithium battery required a special 'sensed' charger.

Just installed the battery, no other mods other than to secure it in the bay which was padded out.
The charger is a lithium specific one, from the antigrav website but you can get them elsewhere

Sure, but does it also get charged by the engine (alternator)? Or do you run 'total loss'?... i.e. you recharge the battery through your mains charger before each use.

This looks promising, how long have you been running it for? Any issues?

Not sure entirely about 2 years, its not as flexible as a standard lead acid, I have removed the stereo and bulbs from doors etc in case I leave one open as it will die quickly.
Other than that, use as normal.

Well even I am surprised by the result!

The slicks we run are huge 335/660/18 they measure up at 15” wide off the rim!

9kg! I suppose that justifies the £525 per tyre that lasts approx 30 minutes........

Mike
Just thought I would add a picture of a standard Cerb rear spider next to one of these race tyres we have on the racer. Amazing how light they are when you consider the size difference!

Also, if you’re going down the lightweight panel route, the time effort and expense to replicate these should not be underestimated.

I recently bought some wheels from Revolution alloys, they are flow formed Race alloys so supposedly very strong and light. They’re replacing my Compomotives which are 3.5 kg per rear wheel heavier, maybe 2.5-3.0 kg per front wheel. Cost around 7-800 quid.
Reducing unsprung weight is the way to go
Sizes are 8.5*17 and 10*18
