I must profess a large degree of ignorance re Callaway's specific performance programmes for Vettes, etc but from my haziest recollections I recall their founder being interviewed and suggesting that the concept of bespoke designs was quite par for the course.
In other words, "If Sir wants 1100bhp from his Michael Knight wannabe, that'll be just fine; oh yes and a bit of Uncles Sam's finest greenback too, please..."
There's a race through some part of Texas, once a year, on a road for some 60 (or 90!) miles. The local authorities close it down for the duration but you get an amazing flotsam and jetsom of racing, sports and supercars and a wild raft of ultra modified variants competing: some of the quoted power levels are quite ridiculous!
I remember one of the protanganists, who was a serial Vettemeister, bemoaning the fact that his 800bhp weapon had 'lost' a cylinder on one of his 240mph runs and he'd 'trailed home' at a weedy 195 as a result!
I think in this type of company - and I suspect this to be the subconcious inspiration of my original posting hereon - was that against this standard of straight line thuggery, even Blackpool's most heavily 'prepared' rocket might struggle!
Yikes!

Please, spare me the VIPER..CEBERA..thing,lets not have another 500 posts of my cars better than yours, but lets just say i,ve lost count fot the number of times the truck engined, non handling, poorly designed Viper has won Le-Mans and other international races, and could someone please remind me of how many a Trevor sorry TVR has one,i think the may have tried racing at Le-Mans in the 1960,s but only lasted a few laps at race speeds before it broke.....now thats uncommon. My GTS is real slow only managed a standing mile at 178mph,guess a Cebera is good for 200+ right?,the only car where all owners claim this speed yet no motoring mag has ever managed it...funny thing that?My poorly engineered Viper must have something wrong with it as in 18months of ownership nothing has gone wrong with it,must come from a bad batch!
The ass-kicking video in wich the cerbera eats everything alive (indeed porsche, lotus, aston martin etc. etc.) can be found at

It really is an awesome sight...

You're probably thinking of the Silver State Classic: www.silverstateclassic.com/ in Nevada. Now why can't we have one of those over here? How about Milton Keynes to Tamworth along the A5?
I think we may have upset VEMON500 with our comments.
Why get upset? If your car performs to the figures in your profile you have nothing to worry about, if it doesnt then you are as bad as the rest of us here in the slightly over enthusiastic quotes in the performance department.
Paul Very Very Very fast Cerbera 4.2

I might give more credence to the video had the same driver been used in all cars, instead of all cars being driven by different drivers of varying ability. Wasn't it John Ravenscroft in the Cerbera?
In any event, the stock Viper in the UK is pretty gutless. Still didn't stop one from lapping Nurburgring only 1 second slower than a 360 Modena (which had superior power to weight ratio, and ABS to boot).
