The pump looks horrible as does mine. How about a slip over can with mount attached?
I did think about something like that for more protection, but in the end kept it simple, but with it being stainless won't rust away.

A new gearbox/clutch fixed the starter motor

Perhaps if I'd tried cleaning the old mechanism I would have saved myself £70

Did you buy a new one? They aren't bad. I looked into them when my last starter died (only 2 years old) but Str8Six has a supplier of uprated ones so I went with one of those instead.

It did take a little holiday, I just waited for it to come to its senses

Thanks Rik, your encouragement was much appreciated

Thanks also to Mark, Will, Dan, Dave and Aide especially

Here's a couple of half decent laps

The conditions are perfect with virtually no traffic at all, because it's an uber expensive track day event (max 120 cars registered for the event) rather than Tourist Laps

There were no red flags on either day, same as last year, so if you have a working car you get to drive as much as you like

The weather wasn't great on Thursday and I had a few issues to resolve, so I only managed about 20 - 22 laps over the two days, but it was definitely worth it

The second lap is slightly quicker, start here for that lap if you only have a few minutes spare

How does the car feel these days? I know it’s been off the road for a long time and also you fixed an issue with the cam timing(?)

Edit just watched the vid. You must have a good memory and/or enormous testicles. smile

Thanks, it felt really good too

But I find it's very much like jumping out of planes

If I think about it too much, I really don't like the idea at all

But once I leave the plane, or drive out on track - IT IS SUBLIME
