Looking to buy my first Cerbera, anyone know P885 KON?

Decatting was useful upto a point. Didn't stop the temp guage flicking off the end of the scale when stuck in Le Mans traffic for best part of an hour.
It's definitely true, they prefer to be moving.
Decatting didn't stop the clutch hydraulic line melting on the E40 in a summer traffic jam eitherIt's definitely true, they prefer to be moving.
Getting out of that involved pushing the car across three lanes to assess the issue (where bizarrely BossCerbera pulled over in a classic Merc to offer assistance - I had no idea who he was), driving to a motel to rest, driving about 100 miles to Passion Engineering near Lille the following morning to get the hose replaced - all with no clutch
I doubt that is something the Carrera owner is likely to relish

Was he in his gold one?
He's a lovely bloke is Phil. Only met him once at the Spa Classic 6 hours a few years back. Got a delicious Espada too.
Not sure about the colour, but I think it might have been a W120He's a lovely bloke is Phil. Only met him once at the Spa Classic 6 hours a few years back. Got a delicious Espada too.
I did accept Phil's invitation to drop by and say Hi a couple of days later during the Spa Classis, which was June 2015, sadly he had suffered a wishbone failure in the Cobra he was driving
I don't remember paying anything to get in, unlike last year when it cost a fortune

Funny that, it's why my car was decatted in the first place, was because on London Thunder my clutch started failing because it got to hot and affected the fluid, which had never been flushed. As said, I don't have heat issues with my car now

My worries with the £48k Str8Six Cerb are as follows;
1st owner 2003-2016.
It seems to have no service history between 2009-2016 - is this an issue?
2nd owner 2016-18.
Then fully recommission in 2016.
3rd owner 2018-19.
Total refurb to “as new” condition in Aug 2018 - its since done 100 miles in just under 2 years. Previous posters in this very thread have suggested these cars need driving and that things wear out if stood. Basically this car has stood still for 2 years and has no service history 7 years of its 17 year life.
£48k seems steep considering the above....
I would suggest getting on the phone and speaking to Jason or Chas at Str8six. The car is amazing and they will fill you in on the backstory. Having Str8six warranty the car is worth its weight in gold and you will enjoy it far more than the 911 I'd wager1st owner 2003-2016.

The thing is that should you buy the car treat it like a new car for a 1000 miles or so, basically run it in and take it back should anything show up, it will then be fixed properly.

Hello Phil, how are things?Fancy a meet at the Ace when all this virus stuff is over?

The car has been completely rebuilt so previous history is effectively null and void.

1000 miles at no more than 3000 revs with the occaisional squirt is very boring and hard to do. After my engine rebuild I took it on a return trip 3 junctions on the motorway early mornings to build up the mileage quickly and somewhere I could keep the revs low.The thing is that should you buy the car treat it like a new car for a 1000 miles or so, basically run it in and take it back should anything show up, it will then be fixed properly.
Needed to do it quick as was going to France the following month

Hope you’re very well and your lovely Cerb is too

But let’s get to the Ace as soon as this is done.
Assuming restrictions are lifted within a month, which I'm not entirely convinced they will be, I will be at the Ace Cafe for British Sports and Performance Night on Wednesday 20th May, failing that on Wednesday 17th JuneThis is worth considering, it's beautiful as well..

It felt fantastic but it was my first and only viewing of a Cerbera (although lusting after one for 25 years).
I’m equally nervous and excited about the prospect of Cerbera ownership and understand the risks, but does anyone know any more about the car? It sounds and looks as though the chassis and engine are in good condition, I just want to feel I’ve done as much due diligence as I can before diving in!

Are you the gent off the Facebook group who was asking about whether you need air conditioning because if so I really advise you do.I’m equally nervous and excited about the prospect of Cerbera ownership and understand the risks, but does anyone know any more about the car? Yep, one and the same! I thought the consensus seemed that most of the cars that had it, it didn’t always work anyway! I’ve started looking deeper at the cars for sale and it does appear that most do have a/c. I understand it can get quite hot in the cabin. Do you think it would be that much of a deal breaker? My bigger concerns were engine, chassis and electrical reliability.

My aircon works well and I particularly like the vent under the steering wheel which is a piece if genius design. I've also not had any electrical problems in 2 1/2 years of ownership (plenty of noise and grins though).I always keep the battery on trickle charge
trickle charger is essential.
Drop the windows and the sides of the car are off, so if making progress the car is cool enough, although driving it in 38C in France was warm...
I've and early one so the aircon is marginal in hot weather anyway, it's ok in a normal UK summer, so it's never been high on my list, although I did spend a few years chasing all the leaks.

Just snipping this bit to say that there’s quite a few out there that appear very nice and there’s probably no need to be compromising on anything as you suggest as it’ll be a little thing that just sits there and annoys you as time goes by. Spend the time to find one with every box ticked and I think it’s be worth it.Gassing Station | Cerbera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
