Hi All
I've attached a couple of pictures of my ECU. Does anyone know what the connector / plug is for? Its just 2 wires. Is it to much to hope it's any easier way of interrogating the ECU date without unscrewing the front cover plate.

Regards

Mike H

It IS a dignostic plug, but not what you're looking for. It was for the MBE diagnostic fault code box which was issued to dealers in the very early life of the cerbera. I can't remember the last time I ever saw one, they were pretty much useless.

Thanks very much for your reply.
As you say "not what I'd hoped", but at least I can stop hoping.

Thanks

I'm going to hedge my bets and as I can't think of any other outputs on the ECU that carry diagnostic data, that those two connectors are for the RX and TX of the serial data line that also has the 9 pin socket inside the ECU

I could be totally wrong but if you grab a multi-meter and test in continuity mode that one connector goes to pin 2 and the other to pin 3 of the RS-232 connector inside the ECU (test all of the top row as the pins might be reversed) then you can use it as the same as the normal 3 pin one that most connect to

[Aide / Greg (Le Frog) and I spent quite some time discussing the ECU stuff and diagnostics]

Thanks Judder
I'll check that out (when it stops raining). Christmas may also get in the way of the important stuff!

Thanks again
