Cerbera or Evora

So not really fair to compare the speeds
...unless you put a flappy paddle and tc on a Cerb which would be interesting.
I had a ride in a Cerbera with a special gearbox. Didn’t need to use clutch or lift etc just change gear. Assume it was a zero shift or whatever they are called. It felt very fast. ...unless you put a flappy paddle and tc on a Cerb which would be interesting.

One problem is many owners put very ordinary tyres on their Cerbs mainly because of the difficulty in getting modern tyres in the right sizes.
Toyo T1R are crap as are most of the others in the original sizes but put a set of Pilot cup 2 on like the Porker wears and it makes the world of difference.
I was going to ask why the Cerbera allegedly has little low speed traction, because it doesn't make a whole lot of sense when we now have RWD cars putting out almost double the bhp and torque (765LT).Toyo T1R are crap as are most of the others in the original sizes but put a set of Pilot cup 2 on like the Porker wears and it makes the world of difference.
The TVR owner fascination with Toyo tyres is baffling, they are cheap copies of a (literally) 10 generation and 20 year old Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD2.
I'm sure a Cerbera running 2020 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 or Pirelli Trofeo R with correct geo and good suspension should have excellent traction.

I used to love the tread pattern on the GSD2(had them on my 200SX). I even had a pair of adidas trainers with exactly the same tread pattern on the soles! I also had Toyo on my Cerbera!
I wouldn't have toyos on any car after doing a track day with them. They overheated within one lap. A set of Michelin PS4s on a Cerebra must make a big difference. I wouldn't recommend Cup 2s on any car as they are ditch finders with standing water. They are for fair weather only and I am speaking from experience having aquaplaned at 70mph on the motorway.

However, only the Cerbera will have you stop in your tracks and look at it, after you have heard it coming!
Some of the older 911s are ageing well

Never been much a fan of the way 911’s look. Some of the special models (original 930 Turbo, 993 RS, GT3 RS) do look quite nice.
BUT, I hardly notice the 911’s when I walk into my garage, all I see is the Cerbera.
I’ve been running Toyo’s too, but my tyre-shop friend told me to ditch them for PS2’s (I only use the Cerb in dry weather), so thanks for the affirmation in this thread, I will switch at the start of the summer and see how things improve :-)

I have Michelin PS4's on both my 370Z and Cooper S and I reckon that they are a great tyre. I would've definitely liked to try them on my Cerbera for sure. Olivera said:

Quickest recorded 0-100 time for a 4.5 Cerbera is what, 8.3 seconds iirc? Back in the day.. Add some modern tyres and you will cut that down.
(Ok yes, I accept not all 4.5 Cerbs are created equal, but mine makes proven very very good power for example ~465bhp/tonne, Martin's 4.7 is an animal too and there are others out there).

All we need now is a runway and a Porsche that has a. manual gearbox and b. no tc
I feel a race coming on.
I had a good race with 997.2 Turbo S at Snetterton once, lasted about 20 mins.I feel a race coming on.
I couldn't get on the power as early as him out of the corners, his traction gave him a big advantage there, by half way down the straights he was in my way holding me up, I could brake 20m later than him but track day rules forbid overtaking on the brakes.
I could corner quicker than him as well, the Porker getting quite unsettled in the faster corners where as the Cerb is so planted in fast corners.
In summary the Cerb was the quicker car round Snetterton.
