This isn't a bad pic of how it goes together, you can see the base plate, the 'D' bush bracket, and the strap.

They are what I have been referring to as the 'D' bush base plates, Paul. I've had to replace both of mine as they had corroded to very thin in places.
Sounds a silly question, but are you 100% sure you have the high ARB?
This is my car

And this is a pic someone posted years ago, which I never understood

That has an extra part and extra webbing that is missing from my car, but might be in yours?

So yes, yours is missing the orange bracket & strut shown in the bottom pic, and that one also has extra gussets (compared to mine) on the two protruding chassis tubes.

Paul,
Top is after hot zinc spray treatment.
Bottom is after paint.
No other differences 😄

The extra parts are a bodge by tvr. When the arb was first mounted above the diff the two tubes which supported the arb brackets used to fracture. The additional bolt on bracing was the interim measure before they started welding gussets to the tubing to support it more securely. It's still a rubbish design, but seems to hold up well in its later amended form.

Ah, that makes sense now, Joolz, and thankfully the bodge brackets are still available from RG, as mine had corroded down to thinner than a 'waffer-thinn' mint laugh

If only I was, Paul.
On the eve of a massive backwards move... can't say any more at this point, other than it'll be back on a trailer en route to the paint shop again tomorrow... no names, no pack-drill, not looking for a life-time ban.

curiously in the picture that ukkid doesn't understand there is both the bodge additional bracing AND the extra bracing tvr welded into the chassis both shown .. belt and braces!

Since the passenger side ARB support 'arms' failed and have been rewelded (with the body on) and now the ARM is located so far back that it has made a hole in the wheel arch, I can understand their belt/braces approach

What I don't understand is whether there is anything I can do with these, and if so where they should be fitted

Are they just bolt on?

I trust that is just a temporary set back that you will have forgotten about after the first drive of your 'as new' Cerb

Yes Paul, you might need longer bolts, and there is also a strap each side from the bracket down to the lower arm front pivot bolt. It is clearly visible in your highlighted pic above. I've not seen them offered for sale anywhere, but they would be a super-easy fabrication, just flat bar with a 7/16" hole and a slight kink at each end. I can measure mine tonight if you wish...
