Morning all,

Whilst I'm pulling my steering rack out I'm considering replacing the front wishbones. Current ones look ok-ish and would probably scrub up alright but the bolts that hold them all together looks awful. So, man-maths, Cerbera-shiny-bits-love take over and wondering if I'm replacing bolts, bushes, balljoints I might as well put new bones on too - where would people recommend buying them from, and are there any other bits that I should replace which I might forget? She's not had a treat for a while and whilst I have a heated garage to work in....more justification....

Cheers

Joe

Give ukkid a call. There are early and late versions of the upper ones, he bought the wrong (later) ones, and was seeking a buyer....

ah - that's useful to know - mine's an early 4.2, July '96 stamped on the chassis

That would definitely make it an early type one then.
Have a look on Racing Green TVR Parts, they have pretty pictures of both types.

When I found I had the later wishbones, my gf did an emergency dash up to Sheffield on the train to RT Racing

The late Richard Thorpe sent her back on the next train with a pair of wishbones with bushes pre-fitted as per my request

As a result I still made it to the event at Zolder a couple of days later

Richard spent some time talking with me beforehand to make sure the right parts would be ready, what a gentleman

I have a set of the newer, slightly longer ones for sale if any one needs a set?

I noticed that when removing/mounting the wheels they were bashing the edges of the wishbones, a little bit of sealant and some rubber edging from eBay and they’re nicely protected now... if you invest in some new ones it might be worth considering doing this.
