So.... CoVid is reeling against the Human Being's ability to adapt and survive
Soooooo
Why not give ourselves another test ?

Nürburgring 2023

Just off the top of my head....

Brit residents meet near the UK Coast
Travel in a relaxed convoy across to DE, Officer ! (Maybe have a pre-arranged Petrol Stop / Gassing Station somewhere in BE)
Stay overnight at Nürburg and dine at The Pistenklause
Take some lessons with The Ringschool
Have a blast around in our own Babies
Second night in Nürburg to de-tune and bore each other to death about how we almost made it around in under 10 mins
Set off home in the same manner as the trip over.

There is a possibility to use the Goodyear Tyre Testing Cicuit nestling in the hills of Luxembourg.
If there is enough interest, I will make enquiries.

Usually my suggestions meet with NO communication so I am used to being igmored.

Just wondered ?

ALL european countries have declared covid as finished.....but there is one remaining wrong-way driver: Germany

they want to roll-out covid again in October with even stricter rules, using the "Protection against Infection Act" which has been (again) extened up to April 2023.

so forget about Germany.

Hm, the thread speaks about 2023 and I assume you are not planning a trip during January-March when you could even in these times expect snow in the Eifel. So I guess that any Covid restrictions will not be a problem for such a trip!

Brilliant Russ,

My attempt to chase you from Spa across to the Nordschleife still remains one of my best motoring sessions.

Sounds fun. Hopefully can afford an extra trip away next year. Already blown the holiday budget! As the Mrs is a teacher if its done in wchool term time it'd ideally be a weekend do so we could travel some way in to Belgium on Friday night and be back home by Sunday evening. Summer half term week starts Sat 27 May so could that be an option?

I have no idea how to drive round a track so will be going very slowly but I'm sure it's an experience worth having. Any tuition welcome.

Could be fun.

First time I went I spent some time before hand on a racing game with the circuit on it. At no point does it teach you the elevation changes, speeds to use, feeling etc, but at least you have an idea which way the corners go

Yes could be an opportunity to see continental TVRs for sure.
Do you have a rough idea of the period of the year?
In 2023, the Mans Classic, beginning of July, will celebrate the 100th anniversary so this will be better if this not overlapping this event.

German has still a Mask-waering Mandate for public transport....i´m surpirsed that in your pic showing a public-train most people dont wear masks. i was on an exhibition in Frankfurt 2 weeks ago...at every corner of the trains a self-declared "block leader" remidning you to wear the correct mask (FFP2 by the way in long distance trains)...agressive ticket-inspectors calling immediately the police if the mask is not correctly worn. people without self-confidence, still qeueing with large distances on fuel-stations or bakeries.....lots of peopel still scared and wearing masks insupermarkets....and they really look scared and brain-washed behind their masks.

forget about germany ...."Germany in Woke Delusion?" Chess is considered problematic, because the white piece may make the first move. Dreadlocks on a white person are declared as cultural appropriation. concerts where ar white person plays Reggea are cancelled. children are no longer allowed to dress up as a sheik or Indian in kindergarten for carneval. you are even not allowed to say Indian its now called indigenous. Movies like Winnetou are banned from Television. Sven Lehman, the multisex commissioner of the German government says "Man and woman cannot be distinguished, biology does not apply".

Sorry Nicols,

apparently we have different views about the Country but I don't want to argue about the political situation on this thread (like I don't on any motoring thread). I'm only interested in going to have fun on the biggest race track in the world.

There are other places in the ether to voice your opinion.

Let's keep this thread for motoring fun, eh ?

Thanks.

PJ

You are absolutely right Paul! Thanks for your comment!
There are still some COVID restrictions in public transportation but of course they are not affecting fun on the Nuerburgring. wink

Cheers
Michael

Vielen Dank, meine Freunde !

Wow, this would be Fab if we had a mixed 'Comtinental' group of enthusiasts
(Plus, that would help for translating "14 Beers, please !" beer )
