Hi I am looking to know how to remove the rear trim so I can check the door solenoid. Any tips on how to remove?

Just incase you haven't dived in and figured it out already you need to remove the rear speaker, to get your hand on a wing nut which joins the trim panel with the speaker in it to the panel above it that runs from the top of the windscreen to the rear screen. Other than that the panel is just held in place by the door seal. That's how it is on my '96 car anyway!

Thanks Will, I didn't know about the wing-nut. I got as far as removing the speaker and then gave up rolleyes
Turns out, that with the back seat squab removed (and lower seatbelt mount), the trim panel can be moved out of the way sufficiently enough to allow decent access to the lock mechanism and door actuator.

The seat base has 2 (M6?) nuts that are accessed from under the car (they pass through a chassis rail and have a couple of 2p size brass washers.
The seat back has to be removed first and that has similar bolts and washers accessed through the wheel arch.
All of this can be done with the car parked-up as normal and lying under the car with a socket set. However, it does really help to remove the wheel.
Once you remove the seat, the seatbelt bolt (bottom of B pillar) is easily accessed and removed.
Then it’s just a case of gently pulling the trim away at the bottom and reaching-in to remove the door lock assembly.
