I just received same message but from the name Dennis Bennett and referring to his shipper Frank Thomas whose (no geographical) mobile no is the same as the others mentioned.

Being suspicious about the email I googled the mobile number and found this website - I'm casting no accusations but seems to good to be true - they normally are that for a reason.

Needless to say I shall not be pursuing it any further.

Just thought I'd update the names.

MR DENNIS BENNETT.
RESIDENCE/HOME ADDRESS:-TEGNERLUNDEN 7,
114 69 STOCKHOLM ,
SWEDEN .

Greetings All..

Just a note to thank you for highlighting this scam. I put my Merc Coupe in Auto Trader and had an email from our friend Darius but he claimed to be in Switzerland! The auto shipper was this time called Frank Thomas..same mobile number and would be contacting me.

I was going to send an abusive email back having read your comments, however have decided to string him along for as long as i can! Lets waste a bit of his time!!!!!

Thanks again folks

Roo.

Hi, just to let you all know out there - this scam now seems to be operating using a contact name of Peter Olsen who gives the same Geneva address and the british contact is now a man called Frank Thomas-he has just contacted me as a private seller regarding my Saab. Another one I had was from a lady called Victoria who so called lived in the Isle of Man - when I said I was going on holiday there and would deliver it it all went very quiet!!!
both the IP addresses for these track back to Nigeria

I've got this Chris Asulf trying the same at the moment, he states he's in Sweden, he sent a mobile no. of a shipper and he's asked for my address to send a 10% deposit and the shipper will pay the rest in cash! if he's satisfied the car is in good nick, what's his angle is he just wasting peoples time? I can't see a scam because he hasn't asked for bank details to make payment

Yeap agree, I had lots of interest for my Griff from Europe, had a guy from Sweden fly over and take a look, then a guy from Germany, eventually sold to a UK buyer, but not all Euro enquires are scams

So, think I'd get away with scripting a carefully worded advert for my lovely Cerbera 4.5 in Sunset Pearl yellow, worth, oh I dunno, £15k?, stick up the photos of my lovely Cerbera 4.5 in Sunset Pearl yellow (with a bit of photshop touch-up to remove model base etc wink), take his 10% and then let his local shipping agent take away my my lovely Cerbera 4.5 in Sunset Pearl yellow
