Excellent. Wish I'd had your directions before I did the job.

I would add, be very careful with the clutch hose. Do not disconnect directly into the bell housing. It's only got 3 or 4 threads into the bell housing and can easily be damaged or cross threaded. yikes

Ok, so this is how I do it, I'm sure others will say something different.
The bolt sizes are whats on my car, no guarantee they are the same on all, And the torque settings are from the AJP8 rebuild manual.

Replacing the Clutch

Hope it helps.

Ha ha. After our chat in the breakfast queue at Hayling on sunday, I did wonder when you would post this up. hehe

If you need any more advice just holla.

One piece of advice in advance would be, If you feel your loosing your rag with it, walk away get a cuppa and return refreshed. And dont rush it.

The first time it was quite alot, now I can do it in my sleep

In case anyone is wondering why I have done my clutch so many times. Its not because I cant fit them properly, its because when my clutch first went it was at a time when there were no clutches available.
I found a supply of second hand clutches and at a 5th of the price of new. The trouble is life expectancy was a gamble. 2 S/H clutches lasted about 1 1/2 years. I was then put in touch with Clever Trevor.
My clutch has been trouble free since, except for one minor problem. I replaced the Slave cylinder but didn't apply loctite to the 4 bolts holding it in and it came loose. So out came the gearbox again.
All in all 4 times so far and i'm expecting to do it once more.

LOL - and on my website: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/dave.hinns/servicing....

I'm still trying to put everything useful into one place for everyone smile

Now if everyone would just stop bidding silly money for the workshop manuals on Ebay I'll buy one and rescan it.

Any chance you still have a copy of the clutch how-to?
I’ve looked on your website, but don’t see it there and none of the links in this (ancient) thread work anymore.

Thanks in advance :-)
