ROFL

Is this poorly spelled rant a wind up. Why on earth would you get all worked up about being stuck in a car you don't own as it sunk into a lake you have not driven into due to mechanical problems that have not occurred to a car you have not fixed because you don't own it yet, and which might just not be that suitable as you are claustrophobic anyway.

Do you also worry about going out to the pub in case you fall down the toilet which you have not visited, because you don't need a piss in the pub which is closed where there might be a mugger although there might not be and anyway you do not know because you are scared to go out???

Too many computer games bringing on angst where none is needed. Relax mate. It may very well never happen.

You're a funny guy mate. Lets be friends. I like you a lot.

Claustrophobic... yeah, praps. Said so didn't I.

re: the shuttle disasters... reasearch em. Nasa was warned of problems in em, prior to launch (challenger) but engies were ignored, and the rest is history.

But, in everyones eagerness to slam the claustrophobic guy who read a post about 4 people getting locked in their cars, you musta missed the bit about the electrics being *more simple than kids electronics* ... where the comparison came from i can only guess.

Pent up stress eh. You'll get over this post in time, Im sure.

re: the pub... I'll buy you the beers next meet mate. You sound in need of chill pills et al more than I.

Just claustrophobic here mate, although I'll admit being as defensive about your rants as you are about the cars.

I think this thread is about flogged to death now... knockin it on the head here.

Err - what you think that door opening handle on every "normal" car is for then?????

Handles are no use in a modern car. I was in a new BMW 535i that had central locking issues. Fortunately the passenger window was open so we could get out.

All cars should be as safe as a Cerb with a backup mechanical lever if you ask me.

Glad you can take the joke in the spirit it was meant. I can assure you I am not defensive about TVR reliability, some of it is shocking. I don't think I mentioned Shuttles so I'll gloss gently over that. It was not a rant as indicated by the smileys,(what follows is a rant) but it was a touch of humor brought about by your post meeting with my healthy sense of the ridiculous.

As to the kids electronics bit, well the circuits might be simple when drawn on paper, but the construction is done by notoriously fallable things called people, whereas most kiddie toys are made in very accurate factories where they can be tested and junked quickly if they do not work. It is hard to do that with £50K of handbuilt plastic sportscar. The plastic is the key point here, it is much more complicated to build any kind of electronics into a plastic car, they need to be earthed effectively and that means that the electronics get more complex than they'd have to be in a steel bodied vehicle. More complexity means more single points of failure and more breakage.

Either way it is not really something to get all hot under the collar about unless it is a problem which actually affects you, and you do not have a Cerbera, so this is all deeply theoretical and silly. The tone of your post was inflammatory and suggested a serious problem, on reading the contents I discover that it is the product of a fertile imagination. On PH that tends to mean someone is going to gently take the piss out of you, as I did.

So before the men in white coats come for you...chill out, spot a joke when it is clearly marked by smileys and if you are not prepared to be laughed at don't post daft things.

But you've obviously got a back-up method of getting out as you've got access to a PC! E-mail an address of where you are trapped and someone will come round and let you out. Unless of course the water is rising fast, in which case e-mail the lifeboat services. .sdrawkcab epyt ,deppart dna nwod edispu era uoy fi rO

Sorry lads, not into verbal jousting (zzz) You'll have to forgive me if I get locked in my cerb all by myself, questions and all

I'll remember in future, not to pose hypothetical questions lest the intenectual owners take offence, and have a pop.

Clearly... you were offended or just very very bored.

You do not seem to have quite got the point yet.
Remember this is a PUBLIC internet forum, not a private one. Please be aware that you comments can be misued.

Statements like this 'Burnt to Death...' - can generate uncontrollable rumours - that spread and do a lot of damage, at a personal, professional or business level..

You may be unaware, but your last post came across as condescending and arrogant, text (being without visual communication clues) can cause easily cause offence when none intended.

Hypothetical questions are fine......

Inflammatory ones are not.

PS I got locked in a Brand brand new Aston Martin Vantage at the motor show a few years ago, on the revolving turntable, in front of hundreds of people. Took 10 minutes to get noticed and for them to get me out. Anything COULD have happened.... Didn't though.

;-) Maybe I should have sued for emotional stress ;-)

(For the unenlightened, sueing was a JOKE, but puts thread in context a bit more perhaps)
