Who was it that changed the ball joints onthe throttle rods for rod ends?

I remember the bits could be bought from RS Components but I can't find the thread and don't know which bits I need.

Any help appreciated.

bought a pair of M5 female rod end bearings one rh and one lh thread, from a company called industria engineering products ltd (they have loads of branches) www.industria.co.uk,
used some button head m5 bolts in stainless to secure them to the levers looks very trick and works a treatcloud9

Me too
I made the linkage from M6 rod ends (bit more substantial i thought)and stainless tube, i changed them last weekend, zero play and easy to fit.
if you tell me how to show photos... i took some good ones of the installation.

I reckon i could bang out a few of these for around £30 each,

Cheers Bart

Hi Bart,

Would be interested in pics, email them to me and I'll host and post them: tim @ cerberafourtwo.co.uk (take out the spaces each side of the @).

Have you really owned 11 Cossies? That's going some.

The 4.2 's look a lot easier to get to than the 4.5's. Do the 4.2' s have a ball type fitting as standard ?

Try www.ondrives.co.uk search

They do a range of joints, threaded ball studs etc.

Do they fit the 4.5s as well?
what is the advantage - better throttle, idle etc...? Maybe lose some 2k hesitation?

I presume it'll balance the two banks better?

Would this prevent the throttle getting stuck open problem?

Hi all

Wasn't expecting all that, but its not a problem but can everybody that wants one please e-mail me and i'll get them done. asap (could be a week ish though)
(b8art@hotmail.com) I don't think the link to my e-mail works from this site

I have used M6 rod ends cos they are slightly more substantial, which requires some drilling on the throttle levers (really simple)

I will check the availability on M5 rod ends but i would prefer M6 as the tube is the right size and stuff.

If anyone requires some instructions on the drilling i'll put it in the package with it.

NOTE:Please bear in mind though that you are actually messing with the airflow balance from bank to bank so i suggest that you hook up your laptop and take a reading of the throttle pots before you fit the rod and set back to the same after it's fitted then if you are confident to play with balancing go from there, i found that out the hard way.

Thanks a lot: Bart
