I always liked this one of yours julian. Can't believe how far up the quarter mile leader-board you are still!

Hi Joolz, what a car it was. Totally standard engine internals, but linked decats, Whirlwind short induction, infamous air box mod, egg box filter and perfect mapping. It also ran normal road tyres on 18’ Spiders and still did 11.9 secs. If I get my hands on one again it’ll be well in the 10’s.....

Hello Chap,

I believe it may have been a massive nose airbox, with 2 huge cone filters in it..

Hello Chap,

From memory just the upper inner section of the air box was inverted and an egg box filter of correct PP rating used.

We did try varying lengths of intake air hoses in place of the current air box and placed cone filters on each side to see what impact it had on hp/tq. But was too much of an effort to manufacture it at the time for the gain it gave.

Thanks Jules, I kept wondering about various daft ideas such as holes in the bonnet race Tuscan style etc but all seemed totally impractical. Went for ACT carbon ones in the end as bling always wins!

Cheers

Grip!!!

I had a photo of mine doing exactly that at the same place.

Too tight to buy it from the on site photography chap so now lost but that is a great corner in a Cerb, so stable through there:-)

Maybe not the best pic, but it’s the most recent. Enroute to Le Mans! Was taking a year off, but decided at 6pm yesterday to go. Bring it on!

Evening car meet in Perth, WA. Light is flattering, making the colour pinkish!
