How wide?! Length irrelevant!

I have a relatively small garage. I used to own a chimp - that fitted easily length wise but was a bit of a squeeze width wise. Are cerbies a lot wider? The doors are longer so that might make it difficult.
anyone have any practical experiences of parking cerbies in small garages? IF I get a cerbie then I want to ensure I can park it in my garage. Thanks, Gary.

I have a pretty small garage too. I had a Chimaera before the Cerbera, and both just about fit. It's a good idea putting some carpet on the wall though, and due to the longer door it helps to push the seat right back. To get in I normally just pull the car out and check the oil anyway.

The cerbera and the Chimaera are actually the same width - I hava a small garage and can fit both in no problem - as the previous post suggested either put some carpet or cardboard on the wall to save your door being scratched.

I have a 2.5 width garage but because the MRS finds it easier to drive in forward I get the choice of reversing in or going in forward and struggling to get out. After about 2 weeks of doing either I now line it up on the the drive, lock it and then push it in, block of wood behind one of the rear wheels and bobs your uncle.

Much easier.

I reverse mine in with no probs. Find it easier to position the passenger mirror down to around where the floor meets the r.h.s. wall before I reverse in, trying to leave a very wide gap on the drivers side.

Again, block of wood where the rear tyres should stop and carpet on driver's side of wall helps.

I too have squeezed Chimaeras and a Cerbie into a smallish garage. As stated the total widths are the same, but the Chimaera's quite a bit skinnier if you ignore the wing mirrors, so getting the Cerbie in is a bit more nerve-wracking.

Luckily when I had my garage built two years ago I thought 'aha, you wanna buy a Yank tank, then make the thing a bit wider'. A mate of mine with a house built in the 80s has a garage so thin, he can only just get out of his Fiesta, and that's with the nearside just about scraping the wall. So had it built 23' long x 10' wide. Can get the Mussie in – not too close to the rhand wall (LHD of course) and then get the driver's door fully open. Makes a big difference. Also about four foot from front of the car to my bench.

MInd you, if the missus puts her MGF in for the night it's like parking a bubble car in the Dartford Tunnel.

Move the telly into the garage and let the car live in the house.

I have a communal garage in the basement of my block and am obliged to park next to my neighbours Aston Martin Vanquish.

How do you think I feel.....
