I'm probably tempting fate here because, in 12,000 miles, I've had very few problems with my 4.5 but... with the wipers on intermitent the MIL light flashes every time they wipe. Has anyone else noticed this?

I think that's the Intelligent Weather Sensory module kicking in to warn you of a possible wet driving surface

On a similar note, the manual implies the MIL light should go out after a few seconds but my MIL light does not go out until the engine fires up. I was told by a TVR garage that they all do that. Is this correct?

Probably just bizarre TVR electrics. I found that if I accidently pressed the immobiliser fob, to switch the immobiliser off, when it hadn't yet kicked in, that I confused it and sent the MIL light bleeping at weird times - like if I put the lights on or the stereo.

I was advised to switch the dashboard key off for an hour, which completely sorted it. Not sure if that's generally a good idea though - but it worked for me.

Doh! Thanks for the tip MW - what do I do every time the blasted middleware gets it's knickers in a twist? Hard re-boot, of course. Brain not in gear today.

Now where's that old Spectrum ZX manual.....

Haven't had chance to "re-boot" yet, I will do it this weekend and post the results but if you're at all interested in these sort of things here's the link to what I believe is the ECU manufacturers spec. sheet:

www.mbesystems.com/941_040200.PDF

Quite fancy the idea of hooking the data log output upto a GPRS modem for remote diagnostics. I wonder if Joolz or any of the other resident PH Wizards could offer to host the service?

Taking the idea further.... might be interesting at track days to have a pit lane display???

You'll find MBE aren't very keen on supplying to software to any TVR/AJP owners...

Easier to stick a different ECU on if you actually want to change anything.
