From around mid 2008 to September 2008 Douglas Valley had a 4.5 Yellow Cerb for sale that at the time was noted as stolen / recovered.

It was a 1998 model in bright yellow with green / yellow (or beige) interior.

Does anyone on here own it or know who bought it, I've checked the register but can't see it.

I believe it was sold to someone who bought it over the phone. They then had the shock of there life! I would have thought the car has either been scrapped or someone has "lost" it.

I remember this car I think....it was for sale when I was looking around about November time...

Is this the one that was 'alledgedly' flood damaged or something like that...? think there were one or two negative comments about the car...the chassis...

Anyway, sorry - dont know the whereabouts now...

Was it your car at one point...?

Hi PeteA

No it wasn't my car, although I did look at it and responded to a few posts on here from people who had seen it advertised but not viewed it.

I thought it had been flood damaged but more because of the smell and once I saw it for the money they were asking I just wasn't interested.

I'd just like to find out what happend to it, or who has it now.

Last time we discussed it....

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

That's strange... When you type doesn't 'Boscastle' in to the search engine, it doesn't bring any threads up regarding that Cerbera.... It's been discussed loads of times confused

I think i might know the one you mean...if any of you are on Facebook type in TVR Cerbera and its the second blog down.

This is what the chap writes..

' I brought my TVR cerbera 4.5 in yellow.
I'm in the RAF Regiment, after coming back from tour in afgan, in november, I brought the TVR and had it delivered to a TVR service garage for it to b fully serviced and mot'd.
But the garage informed me the car is unroad safe due to the chasis and other small bits.
The company i brought it from has said once delivered they don't want to know and have basiclly said for me to do one (puttin it politly)!!
Trading standards have been no help to me at all!!
The car is now sitting at my work place wanting to be fixed the engine does start as had it running.
I would just love for someone either to know anyone that would be willing to help me as a sponsor or anyone works in a garage to help me get the car to mot standard.
This is the car of my dreams i always wanted one n when i finally afford one i get ripped off.
Any help no matter how small or big would be welcome so very much
Thank you'

This was taken verbatim from FB.

Maybe miles off the mark but have a look it might be what the OP ment...

I'm not on any social sites, but I'd have thought a suggestion would be to go to his local paper, especially just after forces days. Local soldier hero gets ripped off by garage...

not fit for purpose eek comes to mind surely the garage would not stand a chance in court as it is a potential killer

But the garage were misleading punters re the condition of the chassis etc.... I think he stands every chance if he gets them in court.

That is just terrible to do that to one of our lads from the forces!

Rob can you track him down and point him to PH?

I'm sure the PH massive can help out here, if only with advice and who/where to get the chassis work done?

Markh1 has a thread here with his new chassis rebuild plans and has a lot of offers of help already, I'm certain this chap will get similar if we can get him onto here?

I emailed the owner the links to this thread. Clearly he cannot afford to get the work done. It looks like a total resto project which surely if you ahve to pay someone to do could easily knock on 20K's door? (interior, anciallaries, chassis, engine, paint....).

got a response from Adam and my fears re the condition and related costs were pretty much spot on. Poor chap is pretty knackered.

Cat D Cerbera with no mot or service for four years from a scrap yard. How much can he of paid for it ? If he can't afford to fix/run it, can't he just sell it, to a similar type of car buyer.

I remember the car and still have a copy of the listing (how sad) but the car was listed as stolen / recovered and they wanted the thick end of £8K for it at the time. Not sure what this guy paid though.

I think the fact that this one had been in a river / lake (IMO) at some point didn't help!!!!
