Does anyone have any links to roadtests showing the Cerbera 4.5 doing 0-60mph times of 3.9secs........that is what they are capable of right?

try logging on to the autoexpress site - www.autoexpress.co.uk you'll need to register but once on the site go to road tests (@ the top of the screen) Then you can select the 4.5 Cerbera roaad test.

Or you might like this???......

4.5

75 degree alloy V8 engine
Capacity (cc) 4475
Bore/stroke (mm) 91 x 86
Compression Ratio 10.75:1
Max power 420 bhp @ 6750 rpm
Max torque 380 ft.lbs @ 5500 rpm

Performance

0 to 60 mph in 3.9 secs
0 to 100 mph in 8.3 secs
0 to 150 mph in 17.9 secs
Maximum speed +190 mph

This is from the TVR website- though it might just be a bit biased !!!!

Have an MPEG of the original test 4.5 (not a 4.2 as they stated) versus Viper Porker turbo Caterham and all that lot on Bridlingthorpe(spell??) runway where the Cerbera does a standing mile in about 30secs (and thrashes the pants off of everything else) but no 0-60 times I am afraid

Well my little old V8S does 0-60 in about 4.5, measured (AP22) on cold tyres and a normal road surface, from a mere 280 BHP ish. It is power limited most of the way. Cerbera is slightly longer wheelbase so presumably less traction off the line, and a cammier engine so harder to get a good launch, but I reckon if you could find a really grippy bit of road (runway or summat) you could probably use all the extra power. 3.9 doesn't sound out of the question. Anyway, if it's just a matter of telling your mate will it or won't it - yes it will, because the factory specs say so. We know better than to take the BHP figures at face value, but the official performance figures actually tend to be quite conservative.

Show him Clarkson's video where the Cerbera eats absolutly everything else for breakfast - then he will believe you.

I don't think that was an entirely standard Cerbera however

Rumour has it that it was a 4.2 but running a development 4.5 engine.

if it was running the 4.5 engine, so what?

the test was to find the fastest production car in the world, and the 4.5 has since surpassed the 4.2. maybe porsche et al have tweaked their fastest production models since, but not enough to beat the 4.5 i suspect.
