A separate question about my own car this time if anyone has any ideas!

While sat in the carwash yesterday watching the cleaners sponge and jet the car from inside, I fiddled with the ashtray again (it has never opened properly since I got the car) and while trying to work out why it wouldn't open, noticed that actually one of the previous owners has cut the back off of the ashtray to hide... a secret Cerbera switch [see picture below].

The label above the switch says 'On' in red and it looks like a fairly standard toggle switch - so before I turn it 'On' does anyone have any ideas what it might do - remap the ECU, reveal a secret compartment, eject the drivers seat....? ;-)

Otherwise I guess it's head under the dashboard/around the back of the center console to see what the hell it does!

Posted at 16:01 - surely you've given in and just tried it already? HOW could you resist pushing a secret switch? biggrin

Nope - still not tried it yet!!!!

Have to move it to new secret underground location on Tuesday night (no joking this time) so wanted to make sure it at least gets there before trying it :-)

and yes I hope it does both rocket launchers AND babe magnet - although my wife is hoping a bag of rough diamonds fall out from somewhere :-) :-)

Typically for TVR, the Cerbera only had two settings, ON and ON.

I'm intrigued - Just flick it and see what happens. Hidden behind the ashtray I reckon it must be some sort of Anti-theft/immobiler switch, go on flick it !! biggrin

imobiliser/engine cut out, due to its location i would guess that the silver key became loose or stop working properly so they've wired it into a switch.

many years ago my wife found a similar switch on my capri but decided she wanted to know what it did when we were going around a roundabout! rolleyes

The G Spot?

Still looking for it despite repeated attempts to ferret it out....

Not considered that it might be hiding behind an ashtray...

Nitrous kit?

I Used to have a brake light switch, flick it and the brake lights came on. Was good fun when some tosser was close, flick the switch and nail it.

I had one on my car and the switch was in a similiar area. However the switch had lights etc too. Still got the retangular boxes and the switch but all the guts were ripped out as it was all bodged behind the dash.

I was the kid that sat starting at their Christmas presents for hours wondering what was in them!

Still not sure if I'm going to try it our tonight or not when I get home - the suspense is awesome though - hope it does something after all the hype :-)

Any news yet,,

I'm looking out my window expecting to see a mushroom cloud rising into the sky...

Give us some warning when you intend to flick it so I can wrap myself in tin foil and pop on a pair of the 3D specs I got when i saw Avatar...dont want any of that radiation stuff making it's way up here.....hehe
