Just to warn you that weird and strange people are quoting your every word on here so watch out!

I don't want to take too much of your time as it would be time better spent on marvelling at TVR's.

But I have to warn you.........this strange person is Guibo......you know.....that complete ******.

He's on Supercars.net(which I know some people hate because of little kids like him) mouthing off about how terrible TVR's are.......how poor the reliabilty is!

The fact is he has never even seen one.
Anyway my point is that he is quoting every one of you when you are actually having a factual discussion with each other about TVR problems and issues.

You have been warned!

Guibo........I'll be waiting for you to quote me on this too.......no-one's safe!

Thanks, but don't worry too much - I doubt he's going to change history - just get on its nerves, he'll get what he deserves.
..and a fat lip perchance?

Oh, BTW - thanks to the courteous Chim gent who stopped to let a hippy cross the road top of whiteladies - OK, so it was a zebra and there was a red light...!

Yeah. we've met him! He hasn't got a clue! Wishes he did, but sadly not!!

If he wants to quote us then so be it, but ultimately, we can make him look really stupid!

Couldnt give a flying fart as to what Guido thinks or quotes. This is a website for like minded people - though each with their own particular preference. As has been said many times before - being a primary source of information for TVR owners and lovers, it is likely that there will be a fair amount of questions and problems that surface.... but this is not indicative of the brand as a whole....

If you worked in the call centre for the AA you might think that all cars are unreliable. They arent, but it is simply the view that you get from what you see / hear....

TVRs are fantastic and long live the cars they make. One in the eye of the anti-car establishment and two fingers up at everyone else.... especially Americans who thing that Vipers are the best thing since sliced bread - which they arent....

Cheers,

Paul

This guy makes me laugh! I read some of the stuff he was posting on Supercars.net! utter bullshit!

when he was talking about the Cerbera he didn't specify any particular one, 4.2, SS, 4,5 GTO`, Speed 12!

Anyone see the Speed 12 and the Viper in the GT's?!?! the 12 comprehensively kicks the arse out of the Viper in every race!!
I think someone with a Cerb is going to have to show this guy exactly what they are made of!!!

Anyone see the Top Gear Road test, Cerb, Viper, Cobra (I think) and something else!! Stright Line speed, Cerb wins, Cornering, Cerb Wins, Braking, Cerb wins...need I go on?!?!

Actually, one thing that I would say in Guidos defence is that he is kinda supporting Pistonheads. Found this on one of his posts earlier...

"Stupid forums like pistonhead", LOL. No, wouldn't want to take the words of people who actually freakin' OWN TVR's, now wouldn't we? "

Maybe we did make an impact. Still, completely hate Supercars.net - those bloody pop-up advert windows are the most anoying thing ever.... Why oh why do website designers insist on doing that....

Cheers,

Paul

Thank you pbrettle. Some one here once referred to me as a "windup artist" and it's pretty evident the same applies to Brit_cars_rule there. (Or shall we say, Elise_Manchester?) In any case, this fellow doesn't think as highly of you as you might think. He's in doubt that any large number of you actually own TVR's. His guess is that this forum is like the Evo Forum.

This fellow here has painted me as a TVR hater, when that clearly is not the case. Have I ever said any of the TVR's are "terrible", Brit_cars? Perhaps a reality (and memory) check are in order. Here are some examples of my contemptous statements against TVR's:

"And to answer your question, I might very well be inclined to pick the Tuscan over the Viper. Here's why:

Interior: the Viper's is fine, for its intended purpose. Actually too refined, if you ask me. I would have preferred the more austere bare-bones treatment its designers originally had in mind. The Tuscan's is more to my liking. A bit "puffy", but I think I could get used to it. And the little bits of machined metalwork around the dash looks great.

Exclusivity: Ain't seen one here yet, nor will I for at least another couple of years, I imagine. # of Vipers I usually see out on the road in a month: 1. # of Tuscans: 0. Simple, really.

Inline-6 engine: just my favorite overall configuration, based on past experiences with BMW's (3.0CS, Z3 Coupe 2.8).

If the prices can be kept in line (projections are $70K USD), if there's going to be good supply of parts availabilty, and if there are no quality control issues (it seems the Tamora leads among TVR's in this department), then the Tuscan gets my vote over the Viper. Not by a landslide, mind you. If you had asked me 1.5 years ago, I'd say that I'd never consider either of these cars, as I prefer something a little more subtle."

www.supercars.net/cMsg?viewThread=true&year=2000&make=TVR&model=Tuscan%20Speed%20Six&fn=23

And look at how I've sullied the Tuscan's name in this one, in a comparison against the Corvette Z06:
"However, even with these things in mind, I'd still probably take the Tuscan S if price were no object (i.e., I could get spare engines from Blackpool, if need be). The Z06 sounds awesome, but it's not any better than a stock Mustang GT or Camaro SS. Except maybe only at full throttle. While the Z06 isn't exactly common, standard Vettes are. It will be a long time before TVR's are as common as Vettes, particularly in this country. For exclusivity, the TVR has it. Also, interior design goes to the Tuscan, IMO. Looks much nicer than the Z06, though the Z06 has some nifty features (dual-zone independent climate control, HUD, etc.). While the Z06 and other Corvettes have a nice front end, it seems to fall flat at the rear. The butt is just too massive, IMO. The Tuscan overall looks better front to rear."

www.supercars.net/cMsg?viewThread=true&year=2002&make=Chevrolet&model=Corvette%20Z06&fn=157

So there you have it. In both cases, I said I'd pick a Tuscan over both the Viper and the Z06. The issue of quoting in the Z06 thread would never have even been brought up if it hadn't been for Brit_cars_rule's statement:
"TVR reliability?......hmmmm the Tuscan has a brilliant record."

Now, I know some of you may have had Tuscans performing faultlessly from Day One. A few more may have even been driving yours on a daily basis and rack up 12K miles in a year or more. But can anyone of you honestly agree that the Tuscan's reliability record is "brilliant?"

Brit_cars_rule's admonition to "Watch out!!!" (LOL) should be accompanied by another: Regard with a wary eye those who seek your support on internet message forums. After all, you don't see me running to the viperclub.org forums pleading with my mates for information on Vipers and such. And asking them to watch what they say. I'd like to think this chap here is old enough to handle things on his own, no? The fact that he's been in here before (under a different screen name, no less) should raise some flags about his credibility.

Stop trolling girls, Guibo's only fault is that he's (she's?) a pedant with a penchant for statistical analysis.
The starter of this thread is conspicuous only by their lack of previous posts.

Grow up.

I'll have to take issue with that.. mostly because I'm an American. Considering the near strangle hold of emmisions requirements, and safety regulations in the states, it's amazing that Chrysler and GM even manage to build cars like the Viper and Corvette.

I have lived here for 10 years, and love my recently purchased Chim 450. If I could buy that car in the states, I would. So would a lot of Americans, but TVR gets away with building cars in this country that are illegal elsewhere.

It sounds to me that you're all getting drawn into a p**&^ng competition with a couple of 5 year old hackers from the US who don't give a parrots fart about TVR! just dream about owning one when they can reach a Griffith's door thingy!

If I wrote an E mail like Guibo,Gizmo...(isn't he a Gremlin or something?) my parents would....oh no I've let the cat out of the bag!!!! wonder whether I was mixing with the normal kids at school.
