Dont get hung up on the age thing, there is always going to be someone who will get bought one b4 they are 18.

Lambo, have a great day waiting for the car and a better one still when you collect it.

Thanks guys. I'm 27, the other fella was 24 and had it bought for him. Lets just say that I bet he wasn't as excited as I am now.

Will get busy on those pic's tonight. Planning a blast through to Hertfordshire, so if you see a timid Black gallardo being inched around west london on the M4, give me a toot and stay well clear!

Dont get me wrong.....the age was just a passing comment...I would be the first to congratulate anyone in a position to buy such a car at your age... you have 3 years on me and with my current situation I would maybe be able to afford to buy one but the rest of my life would be left checking the bank balance all the time...just wondered what you do for a living Jim, plus in 3 years time I know my girlfriend is going to be wanting to buy a house etc, very much extinguishing my chances of sub 30 years supercar ownership... I was given things such as a car when I was younger , but as you said whatever you get given is no way as special as saving and buying your own whatever it is....

Agreed. I own Blue Index. We give advice on derivatives (Nick Leeson had a bad experience with them..) to people wanting to punt the stock market..

Well Well Well....I got it. What a car. Managed to stick 150 miles on it last night and can honestly say it blows my old 996 away in every respect except visibility. Lovely handover from Steve Higgins 'don't ride the clutch James'..(who reads these threads by the way - Hi Steve) and away I went. For the first few miles it was intimidating, mostly because of the reaction you get from othere drivers - speeding up to get a look, photo phones going off - even filming the bloody thing.

Its far more docile in traffic than you'd imagine , I was stuck in the traffic last night in Knightsbridge and the temperature stayed at 90c the whole time. I know we shouldn't expect this sort of thing from an Audi(!) but it was reassuring that it behaved itself. Once I got out onto the M4....jesus...the pull from about 50 to 110 in third is just unbelievable, and the noise is ..well I've run out of words. My old 996 had a sports exhaust (sounded great in first and second) but when you are in a tunnel in the Lambo and you give it some ...you'd have to be dead not to smile. No negative reactions from anyone yet, and I was pleased to find Lambo had fitted heated seats out of the blue (neither I nor Lambo specced them). I will get busy with the camera and post those pics....

Tremendous - nice one Jim! Can't wait to see the pics. It's always interesting to hear from people who actually own these cars, and gratifying to hear from a someone who's bought one as a real enthuisiast.

Welcome James. You won't need to worry about the temperature. I've used mine in 40degree centigrade and the gauge doesn't move then either. Take care on ramps and spoon drains or you'll hear a dreadful scraping noise from underneath with that low front. Happily is sounds worse than it is and is only the scraper plate- but you'll do anything to avoid the sound! You soon get used to striking up conversations at every petrol stop - everyone wants a looks and to talk about it. Happy motoring!
