He does own rather a lot of it and has most of the people in his pocket in some way, shape or form though. Hes the man behind the nasty men throughout a very nasty part of the world.
Didnt you say Wales?

The worrying part is, you wouldn't think it if you seen him or his businesses.
You were actually being serious? Feck, I ws sure that was the ramblings of some juvenile, wannabee crime fiction writer or you were satirising the previous poster...

It did not make you look good at all.

I know who you mean.

Isn't he "The Don" who owns the Greggs in Abergavenny.

I heard he gets a cut of every £6 toll taken on the Severn Bridge and Shirley Bassey still has to pay him protection money.

I did say Wales, I'm guessing you have never been? Merthyr is the roughest place in the UK, it's also a place where most can fight, largely down to the Areas love of boxing.

You can mock, however, I know people like this exist so if I did have money owing to me, I would either deal with it myself or do it through the courts, I would never under any circumstances employ a thug to go debt collecting on my behalf.

If you do good luck, you may just need it. Also prepare to look over your shoulder rather a lot.

Merhyr the roughest place in the UK....heard it all now....

Bit like when I hear about people say Yarmouth is a rough place, but compared to some places it's a 5 star holiday resort.

Hell, i've been to Nottingham, and after a wrong turn, I'd make sure I deleted that postcode from the memory of the GPS!

Anyway, your story is getting better

How did Verdi get into deep financial problems?

With all their business and frequent previous positive reviews it is surprising they arent multi millionaires. (Of course I have no clue about the costs and profit in running a garage).

Such a shame.

Details of Karl Verdi bankruptcy

Kuldip Singh Birdi (aka Karl Verdi) has been declared bankrupt according to the Insolvency Register (copy of the report attached). If you wanted to visit the website yourself, please click on the link below: -

I tried to call the Insolvency Service (0207 637 1110) in order to find out who was appointed Trustee in Bankruptcy, but the I.S. do not appear to want to answer their telephones! I also tried to call St Albans County Court (0844 892 0550) in order to enquire about Kabir Virdi/Birdi/Verdi and again, nobody answered. I’m not sure if they will be able to provide further details about Kabir’s examination, but as it was a Public Examination, I would have thought that they could.

I always visit Yarmouth when I am on holiday in the Isle of Wight and I have to say that it's a lovely place. Granted, The George is a litle pricey but one is paying for the views...

What a surprise !
81 Shaftesbury Avenue

How apt his home address has shaft in it.

Anyway who cares how he went bankrupt. He went bankrupt and held on using other people's money, threatened his creditors with violence, lied about his families health for the sympathy vote. To anyone who meets him they think he is a nice guy, but underneath he is a filthy thief who has no morals.

I think it is safe to say that with the information that has been gathered by the many, many victims of this fraudster, Karl verdi will be facing a long custodial sentence.

I am an insolvency practitioner. I confirm that a bankruptcy order was made against Kuldip Singh ("Karl") Birdi (aka Virdi/Verdi) in the High Court on 21 March 2012, on the petition of HM Revenue & Customs. I was appointed trustee at a creditors' meeting on 20th July against opposition from associated and family creditors who wanted to appoint their own trustee.

The trustee's role is to realise (i.e. turn into cash) a bankrupt's assets and distribute them among his creditors. He can also carry out investigations and apply to court to recover assets/overturn certain transactions.

Would any person who is a creditor please contact me (arprice at marshmanprice.co.uk) with details of his claim. If any person has any information that might be useful to me in carrying out my statutory duties, I shall be pleased to hear from him.

I have today discovered that Kabir Virdi, whom I believe to be the bankrupt's son, was also made bankrupt on 22 June 2012. No trustee has been appointed yet and the official receiver in Reading is dealing with the case. Any creditor of Mr Virdi should contact the official receiver on 0118 958 1931.

Chaps, this post offers a decent point to conclude this. The post above tells you all you need to know, and it appears he can assist with outstanding matters too.
