Scuffed one of my wheels on the Scud, luckily just the paint so no alloy damage. Question is does anyone know the correct code for the gold?. The dealer tells me that they are usually colour matched by repairers . I'd rather tell the repairer the colour than trust his eye.

Cheers

Yes I can see me going the same way, problem is I'd like to keep them as they left the factory.

Thanks anyway.

Cheers

The only reference I can find on the web for magnesium gold is a Ducati reference. It's BGM 0491 (duplicolour).
I need to find a stockist in the uk now!.

Try speaking to Jav @ Rehman and Sons in Halesowen 0121 561 1040, if you can't find the colour code, they have a machine that can scan the paint, run it through a computer to match the code.

The scud gold looks darker than the Ducati one iirc.

It's annoying that I can go to B&Q and get a colour match for my living room but can't get a match for my car wheels. Surely Ferrari would know what colour they spray their wheels!.

not gold, mine are dark grey, I just asked my bodyshop guy to get a close as match as he could, and to be honest he does a better job than Ferrari anyway, Stallion Motors in Beeston, Notts the chap is called Graham.

Steve,

Speak to Scott at Platinum Alloy Wheel Solutions in Swindon (01793 887222), he does most of the refurbs and recolours for Lovetts so should be able to help you out.

So i rarely post anything but to help all folk out there for the elusive colour code for a ferrari 458 speciale gold wheel. So the story begins in that i own a speciale with black wheels and wanted to change them to the gold. Ferrari in their wisdom do not release wheel paint codes to anyone including their dealers. I have a number of ferraris and Maranello just could not get me the code. It seems that most wheel refurbers colour scan the old wheels and go from there. So the internet hunt started and was much the same story time after time. I tracked down most of the wheel refurbers for the main uk dealers. i read the post below and came across the fact that Platinum alloys ( 01793 887 222 ) that do all dick lovetts work. My spirits were lifted so i called them and ended up talking with Scotts dad. Lovely chap and said scott would be more than happy to help. So i called back later- Sadly was met buy the most miserable and rude women receptionist. despite two attempts and polite pleading she wouldnt let me talk with scott. it also seemed scott didnt want to talk with me !My message to you all is never use platinum alloys and please get rid of that woman!! Anyway, rant over! After litterally hours of phone calls and paint colour guessing i hit on the jackpot !! The colour you all need is a specially blended colour for ferrari main agents . its supplied by Morelli group enfield london 02083515151 - colour code AP AWCS 101 Ferrari gold. It requires a black undercoat and a matt laquer to be finished as per original. Both Ferrari and Platinum Alloys www.platinumalloys.com should be utterly ashamed of themselves! i hope this helps someone not to go through the pain that i have been through. And just to say claire at Lepsons has been utterly brilliant with their help and will easily be able to help.

I have a Speciale with gold wheels and they do not have a black undercoat under the gold. It appears to be white on mine.

The paint is very fragile and easily stone chips. Where it has white shows through not black.
