Ferrari 458 Italia oversupply?

The only issue I have is that at 70mph the buffeting in the cabin is terrible. It really would make a drive down to the south of France in summer a roof-up on the motorway job which is a shame.
go a bit faster and the noise drops - best is over 130Edited by Beefmeister on Thursday 4th April 10:01
I tried to use this excuse when the police pulled me over

If you are of the opinion "why would you buy a coupe when you can have the spider" then this could mean bugger all coupe's are now being sold, hence numbers could easily dry up - surely most new orders in this way of thinking will be for spiders and thus bigger numbers and no limited supply?
Yes I do think 458 coupe numbers will dry up as more new convertibles are built but so will demand. With a new 458 convertible with decent spec being £225k+ I think Residuals will definitely strengthen on F430 spiders and potentially help the 458 coupe as well longer term, but its just the current glut of 458 NOW that worries me a little.I've tracked several cars I like the spec of for MONTHS and they are still there at the same not unreasonable price but still unsold

I really liked my Scuderia, but imo the 458 is just a much better car all round
Its been mentioned here before by a few people - but having had 3 coupes and driven a few others I swear the early 2010 cars are faster than the later cars (certainly my first car was the faster than my other 2)

You don't have a fleet and you've got ~ £150k burning a hole in your pocket.
Would you go Scuderia or 458 if you could only have 1 or the other?
I would save up a bit more and buy a 16M since it will hold its value better

Never understood this 'tracking' cars, what is is that eventually gets you to buy rather than track? Not having a go or been clever just wondered what it is that actually triggers the next step, it cant just be price as I assume when you see a car of interest you probably have the funds ready and the longer you look the cheaper 'most' cars get...
As I don't have a burning desire to purchase a 458 Italia right now its really just out of interest and trying to understand what the marketplace is doing at this point. I choose a couple of cars that would appeal to me spec wise and in an affordable price band and then follow them for a while. Of course if I felt "the price was right" for me and the circumstances were right I might consider a purchase.I do the same with the cars I currently own to get an idea of their current value and or possibly px price.
I looked at cars ofr a good 12 months before buying both the F355 GTS and F430 F1 spider as I am very particular about spec, miles and condition and the cars I prefer are not always readily available. It can be a matter of luck and timing buying any used car if you don't want to compromise too much.
My patience eventually paid off as I have 2 cars that I would of specced that way from the factory and they are in immaculate condition but I'm well known in the trade for being ultra fussy and anal over my cars
Even my company cars are treated like gods
There's a nice very low miles 1 private owner red car just posted in the classifieds. Still 158k which for me sounds too much for a private car but very nice spec with carbon seats, led wheel, nav, iPod, lift (not essential) and rear parking.
I love the car, and really would live to swap my 991 for it but still way too much money for me to make sense at the moment. At 100k-120k becomes more realistic.
But I want one now. And I much prefer the coupe guys am sorry, spyder really spoiled by lack of engine view IMHO.

Already spoken to that seller as it is an OK spec. Unfortunately been offered better pricing on some dealer cars than that, so privately it needs to be cheaper.I love the car, and really would live to swap my 991 for it but still way too much money for me to make sense at the moment. Little review about the 458 Coupe from a 430 Spider owner

As much as I loved the 458 there was some annoying things about it and I'd never give up a soft top for a coupe

I am far away from buying a car in this price segment but i would be interested in knowing why would a person buy a Ferrari 458 Spider 2012 £254990 and leave the
Koenigsegg CCR 2005 ££249,990
or the Mosler MT900S 2010 £99,990
The point is most of these cars are anyways used on weekends for a short drive so why not go for a car which will not depreciate and is far more exotic which you may never run into with another of the same kind while driving in the UK?
Best.

Totally different kettle of fish - The K and M will probably give you trouble (at least that's my perception), and are defo cars you'd only drive occasionally. The 458 you can commute to work in if you'd like, and will probably get much more use out of of. Equally, there's a big enough market out there for Ferrari's that you know what you're getting in to and selling is easy enough, albeit at a decent loss.Koenigsegg CCR 2005 ££249,990

I'd guess those are the reasons - I'd never get a K or an M like you've popped up unless I had a number of other cars (i.e. 3 other cars+, wouldn't get them as a 2nd car), and those were really my toys for maybe 1000 miles per year on special occasions. Guess that's a limited market.

I'd have thought the Mosler would be the easiest of the three to look after. LS engine and not too many fussy things to go wrong, no?I'd guess those are the reasons - I'd never get a K or an M like you've popped up unless I had a number of other cars (i.e. 3 other cars+, wouldn't get them as a 2nd car), and those were really my toys for maybe 1000 miles per year on special occasions. Intresting Times, My 12C-SP 500 Miles, 30k Behind list and not a phone call,
How much is it? Surprisingly there are 2 other Spiders in the classifieds for sale both with under 500 miles on each. So are people really burning £600 per mile or were they buying them well under list to start with? Or are the problems still not solved and owners are getting frustrated.
Something doesn't add up to me
