-- "Anyone owned both of these lovely motors at some time? "

Yes, I owned a 996 GT2 and a 360 Spider.

The GT2 is more powerful, probably better screwed together, but I would take a 360 every day of the week.

You always feel as if the 360 is on your side, trying to get you to enjoy yourself, whereas the GT2 is trying to kill you (not called a Widowmaker for nothing).

Personally, I wouldn't modify a 360. If it's not powerful enough, get inline for a F430 which will have significant power hike.

Don't forget to do your research on the very expensive PCCB brake problems on the GT2 too.

The 360 handles like an Elise, very direct, and to me.. didn't feel as tail happy as the GT2.

Don't be blinded by the GT2s power, it has many shortcomings.. reflected in the diabolical resale values.

Drive em both and take your pick.

Would you care to elaborate on these shortcomings, apart from the ceramic brakes? Are you referring to 996s only? Be gentle, having driven the 575M and been put off getting one I don't think I could cope with having another personal motoring icon crash and burn in one year - next somebody will tell me that Diablos are flawed...

Big T - I agree with the others on not messing with the 360.

LHD CS' are around the 100-110 mark now aren't they?

Incidentally, I was meaning the Ultima or 7 as a *2nd* car to use for tracks or when you're in the mood for being untouchable. Keep the 360 for comfy days and talking to females. Both cars will give you enough of an adrenaline punch that you'll not be fussed about taking easier in the 360!

All that said, I wouldn't be letting my head have a say where that SV's concerned. I never used to like Diablos, but have seen a few recently that looked truly stunning. A Murci would be prefereable to me, but that car has to be test driven.

the stripe is a necessity for the cs. if you buy one without it, it just aint right.
