I think 430s are doing well at the moment compared to some other F cars which are down over the last few months.

I love looking at this too - but I cannot help but think the market has stalled.

Hopefully we will see another increase in the last month!
Some cheaper cars appearing on eBay recently. Can't help thinking they must have something wrong with them...

Hi guys

After 3 years without an F430. I am near to pulling the trigger on an 09 F1 coupe in Argento with 7500 miles from Dick Lovett Ferrari. Recently reduced to £109950 and has carbon brakes.

Any comments on this car/price would be very welcome.

I don't know that much about carbon brakes but get them checked properly, as I'm sure you know they're expensive to replace. I read something recently that low mileage doesn't mean low wear - a theory being that they wear/oxidise more because they're not being run up to operating temp. Something like that anyway

Thank you. The dealer has given me the wear readings for the brakes at 8% and the clutch at 17%.

Nice car but still strong money IMHO. Go in with your size 10 boots on. Difference between Retail advertised prices and Trade bids is huge these days so don't be embarrassed about making an offer . Far from stalling the market has actually ground to a HALT

Thanks for that, what would be a fair offer in your opinion??

You are possibly seeing the reality of low trade bids - private sellers advertising a few grand above what the dealers are offering them. Is it a telling sign of the true market position of these cars? Are dealers trying to tough it out - a lot of them are cash rich after a few very good years, so can hold prices while hoping for the market to pick up....but it can only go on so long?

Look out for any chunks out of the brake disc. I hated my ceramics but now love them. I tend to left foot brake and that gives them the force they need!
That price sounds a little high, we got £5k of main dealer price in November last year. I told them I had 2 cars and whichever got the price right would get the deal. We had no negotiating, he just called me the day after and said he'd do it.
I would low ball them...

Thank you very much for the advice. Are there any other common faults that I should ask them to confirm that are not present on this car?

Are you happy with your car, what did you get?

I'd ask what's the status of the manifolds and ball joints. I'm not an F430 expert but these seem to be the common problems

What would be a fair figure for this car. This would be appreciated as I don't know the state of the market at present.

Is it a stock car or SOR ? If its theirs How long have they had it in stock and how much have they reduced it by ?

It sounds cheeky but depending on the answers for above £100k cash sounds good to me. Lots of cars for sale and far more than people with £100k burning a hole in their pocket for a 8 year old F430not in resale red. You can always walk away and come back later to up your offer if you want it that bad

Voicey's chart on page 30 suggests about £110k average for 7500-miler (possibly the car you are looking at)... But Argento is an undesirable colour that knocks 10% off the equivalent price of a red one... While carbon brakes can add 5%... But the overall market is taking a breather after years of gains... Would make an offer of £90k and expect to pay £95-100k...

First listed December last year at £119,990. Reduced to £114,990 at end of April.

Not especially relevant, but possibly of mild interest, the same car was for sale at Meridien in April 2013 for £94,995 then £92,995 (4k miles) and in May 2014 at Dick Lovett for £95,990, reduced to £92,990 in June 2014 (5,860 miles).

That's excellent info there jtremlett..... I'm sure cymario will find that really good to know - I know I would if I was buying.
