F430 - Suspension Warning Light
Discussion
Need a bit of guidance if possible. My F430 has a suspension warning light on. It comes on within a couple of seconds of the car being started up and stays on. At times it's not come on until mid-way into a journey. Suspension seems fine when it's not on but brick hard when it is on (I believe this is the default setting when this happens).
I took the car into Ferrari who ran the code reader and sead Front Left shock is showing an error. They cleared it but it just came back. On speaking to them they said it could be one of three things:
- The shock itself is broken
- The shock ECU is sending a faulty reading and is broken
- The wiring
I asked them the best step to take and they said they wouldn't know until they started replacing parts. With the shock the most likely. The fact the shock is c£1200 makes me wonder if this is the best approach however as reading other forums (which I have done extensively) suggests wiring is a common issue, so are sensors (albeit I assume the diagnostics would have shown this up) and the shock is pretty rare. In fact one thread suggests near impossible to fail.
Anyone got any ideas of how to approach? The car goes into an indy tomorrow for some shiny upgrades so going to get them to attend to it - but not sure in which direction I steer them as yet.
Thanks

This makes we weep....Can no one fault find anymore!Preferably take it to someone who can diagnose it properly or if they want to throw £1200 parts at it, be very clear that you aren't paying for them if they don't resolve it.
It should be relatively easy to test the wiring and if the shocks are the same (and depending on the time and hourly rate) they could move it on the car to see if the problem moves with it.
