Is this Gallardo too much of a gamble
Discussion
I stumbled across this http://www.copart.co.uk/uk/Lot/25137645 stolen recovered Gallardo Nera this morning on a thread about Gallardo prices and fwded the details to a very good friend of mine who's been thinking about buying himself a Gallardo (honestly it's not me, I'm happy with my Cerbera and couldn't afford a Gallardo anyway).
Few of questions.
Would you tell him to run a mile or could it be a reasonable gamble?
What does he need to make sure he checks if he does decide to bid, I'm guessing the state of the clutch as that could be a big bill straight off?
How much do you think it's worth? How much would a non stolen recovered 2009 Nera go for?

Couple things that stand out for me...
It's listed as stolen recovered but additionally mentions "Primary Damage:PREVIOUS REPAIR"
Also it is a 2007 car according to the VIN (probably built late 2006 or early 2007) and was registered new in 2009.....there could be some genuine reasons for this (after all it was smack bang in the middle of the worse recession in decades) but worth checking out.

I was offered a smashed unrecorded Gallardo a few months ago, a pal of mine repairs light damaged cars for an insurance company and we occasionally get offered exotica, the car that we saw was also black and had been stolen and crashed in North London, I cannot remember the year or model as it looked like too much work and we walked away, the rear wheels were ripped off and it had frontal damage too, so be very carefull looking at "previously repaired or even suspicious "unrecorded" cars. I have seen some very badly damaged cars that have slipped through the net and reappeared on the road.
