For that sort of caliber of car, should you really be surprised by getting very attentive service?

Not like you are buying a 1994 Golf from Honest Freds is it? (But Honest Fred does get some good reviews as well)

Have the posters here had bad service when buying a car in this range before?

Yes, very bad. But on Pistonheads you are not allowed to tell other users of any bad service. Especially if those involved are sponsers of any kind.

Oh. How unfortunate.

is it not just a case that all these plp mentioned are doing their job as it should be done ( and what they are getting well paid to do ) , and that we have just become used to plp being rude and incompetent at their jobs and it makes these guys stand out ?

I don't see the point of this thread. If you are not allowed to put up any negative experiences to warn future buyers then you might as well call this thread "every garage is great and honest" and then close the thread straight away.

I bet this gets removed also.

If anyone wants to know a couple of well known garages to avoid then message me.

The whole point to this thread was as the title says " Name and Fame" not name and shame.

I think the thread speaks for its self really, there are loads and loads of dealers not appearing in it which should tell a story.

To be honest if you want to know about a bad dealer just google them !! There are loads that that sell super cars have ripped people off, been done for fraud or been inside .... and many of know them !!!

James Eaton at HWM polite and knowledgeable. Spent over an hour listening and explaining the small technical differences between AM cars. No hard sell.
Paul Clifton Aston Sevenoaks such a honest and straight talking guy who is genuinely keen to find a car that suits the customer. Refreshing.

Matthew Sells (yes real name!) at Ferrari Meridien Modena, Lyndhurst. Always does exactly what he says he’ll do (more rare than it sounds). Agree with previous poster about Dick Lovett in Swindon. I happened to be passing on motorway when I heard a rattling sound from the undertray. Even though it was a weekend and the workshop was “closed” they put it on the ramp and checked it out and fixed FOC. Turns out if I’d driven any further... Good guys.

Another shout out for the Sales and Service Team at Lambo Pangbourne. Consistently excellent over the last 2 1/2 years of ownership.

Also, an excellent level of service from Lambo Chelmsford when I suddenly needed 2 new rear tyres due to a slowey in one of them.

Testing AM Cambridge next week for the annual on the wife’s DB9 GT Volante...will report back. (Purchased from AM Newcastle which was well executed but a bit far from me for servicing).

Aldous Voice and team at AV Engineering for Ferrari, have probably saved me from an engine rebuild, prevented an electrical fire and added 50-75bhp.

PM me to hear of garages near Brands Hatch which should be avoided.

Never you mind

Craig Walton, Service Manager at Brooklands Ferrari Leeds. Ferrari themselves have been that piss poor over some minor issues with my two Ferraris recently that I may well have sold them and jumped ship to another marque had Craig not sorted it all out, at JCT's expense. Top man.

In fact he cheered me up so much after Ferrari pissed me off that when my F12 went in for it's service in December I filled the boot with beer, wine and choccies for all the staff down there and a nice bottle of malt for him.

+1 for AV Engineering - vast knowledge and experience, particularly 360/430s, and they treat customer cars with more respect than any garage I've been to.
