Mikial, you have the ideal combination, still working on it. Congrats for you.

Also had the Porsche sports-exhaust on the Carrera 4 cabrio and down under and especially in the middle revs I think it was even louder than the 355, I really liked it very much.

But revving the 355 6,000 rpm and up with the Tubistyle -preferably in tunnels- is simply out of this world. Like you have an F-16 on your tail, can only compare it with the high F1-scream. Work of a genius. In heaven we all drive Ferrari's with Tubi's and all main roads are tunnels. (exept from the occasional blast around the heavenly Spa Francorchamps)

Hey Mojorider?? Where are you??? We are talking you into your 355 -like you asked us- and we see no reaction yet.

Didn't we convince you yet? Or do your TVR-friends beg you to buy a Tuscan like they tried with me?

Be selfish for one time and go your own way. They will all love it and what's much more important: so will you! I have a poster in my office from No Fear (the fashion-label) saying: Beaten paths are for beaten men.

I find it quite interesting how many people have took the TVR>>>>Porsche>>>>>Ferrari route on here. Very very few misguided individuals (911nutter )seem to turn their backs on Ferraris once smitten??

Just buy one, you will never look back

911nutter, I just read your profile and see you have a Porsche C4S. This is what you wrote:

"This car is awesone. There is nothing on earth like the smell this car makes when you've been on a burn and get out after. It's the ultimate. The car is like glue on the road. 295's on the rear are monstrous.

But it's a pile of crap compared to the GT2."

I'll simplify it for everyone:

"it's a pile of crap"

It all comes down to what you depend to use the car for. If it was gonna be your everyday hack, take the Porsche. If its the fun weekend toy, go for the fezza. If you want a civilized GT car, take the porsche. If you want attention and a crowd, take the fezza. If you want amazing performance, upgrade to a turbo x50, If you want a fanfare of automotive enjoyment everytime you take if out for a spin, go for the fezza.

Its all a matter of what you want it for.

I've had 2 355s and both have been my everyday car. These cars need to be used. Use it or lose it. OK, so it might require more maintenance than a Porker but it does not mean it cannot be used as an everyday car. Some people treat them like show queens, each to their own. Ferrari have not sold out and produced a 4 wheel drive version (and lets not even start on the Porker SUV!!!) because they stayed true to what they believed in. Personally I find the modern day Porsche lacks anything to get passionate about. If I wanted a 4WD supercar, I'd get an Evo and spend some money on it. Just my 2 cents worth...

I agree! but when you use the 355 as an everyday car its value falls hugely and it tens to get rough round the edges. And lets face it the service bills just get bigger as age and miles takes its toll.

problem is that ferrari should be about form and style, the 355 is the last car that ferrari made that fits that description. Did Ferrari stay true to what they belived in when they came up the the 360!- the big fiat!

Always a potential problem when a healthy forum is undermined by trolls. It`s not easy sometimes to ignore ignorent remarks made by individuals who would like to be regarded by their peers as important , I have now made the cardinal mistake of rising to the bait and dignifying these unworthy remarks.Clearly any one making a similarily of a 360 and a Fiat are deluded to the extent of apoplexy.Likewise one who describes his or hers chosen mode of transport as, I quote, " a pile of crap" and still defends it in an hostile environment would best be pointed to the nearest exit and supplied with alms and a golden soveriegn.

Doh, I just re-read your message. Come on guys, it's all just for fun. But as you rightly say, defend your non FCar at your own peril on a FCar forum... ESPECIALLY when you referred to it as crap! BTW, I don't think anyone here would say their 360 is crap compared to a 360CS. Shame Porker owners feel that way though...

never having driven a CS i cannot comment on the difference between the two. but if you have driven a gt2 you will know exactly what i mean and hence the reason for my comment...

the gt2 puts my car to shame and it certainly shows up the 360 (a car i have driven extensively and which is undeniably a fantastic car in its own rights) to be rather lame by comparison.

perhaps the CS would shame the gt2 to oblivion - i don't know - i can't comment - i haven't yet had the pleasure of driving one.

i really don't see what all the fuss is about!!!

I can`t understand how I managed to spell some of the longer words (i.e. more than two syllables) correctly, state I was in Sunday night.I broke Rule One , never post when p****d.
My sincere apologies to those I offended for my rather pompous post.
I`ve taken a chill pill and feel alright now but perhaps there could be a need for more to be administered for others posting here.

Has the originator of the thread made a decision....?

Not according to Tiff at Vmax on sunday. He proclaimed paddle shift to be gay and denounced Clarkson for saying the 355 was a far better looking car than the 360.

What does he know anyway.

Also could everyone calm down.We all know Porkah's aint in the same league so stop baiting 911nutter and let him wallow in his cars glorious blandness

humm, I have not experienced that at all. I use my 355 loads over last couple years..... and it still looks brand new!! General wear is more down to owner care than anything else.

Also 355 service bills are not so bad when you consider 355 prices have only depreciated only about 5-10% per annum in recent years. So the overall cost of ownership is reasonable.

I cant say the same for my old porsche boxster - I took a 30% hit in one year ... ouch!!

Im delighted that your experiences thus far are good with the 355. Actually, I had mine for 3 years and i was singing the praises just like yourgoodself- HOWEVER- the last year of ownership cost me dearly.

As for depreciation I lost £19K over that period and only did 2500 miles in each year. yearly service about £1K 3year service with clutch £3K and the total bills for last year about £10,000

It only depreciates little if you dont use it- they are great cars for sure but one thng is certain you will pay now or later!! or you have luck on your side!
