Hi Chaps,
Got a Fing annoying "Slow Down" light up on the 456 dash today while travelling fairly slow 50-60 mph then it went out.. then on again for a mile or so should I panic or wait until it stays on permanently ?? It is a CAT warning sensor I think. Any advise welcome.

Cheers
G.

G- sorry to hear that. Does sound like it's the cat on one bank and I can't suggest anything other than get it checked out. Could be the sensor or the cat itself, but if you leave it it may shut down that bank. No silver stuff coming out of the exhaust is there? Brett told me he had the cat go on his 348 so might be worth giving him a call.

my slow down lights came on the 348 the day I bought it, it apparently could have been the cat, the ecu or the sensor, I had the ecu & the sensors replaced under warranty and it sorted it.

I've had this on the 348 too - apparently faulty sensors in are the main cause - it can happen on a 355 I am told, so I guess it may be the same on a 456.

That said, I can accept this explanation on an early car ie mine, but would probably want it checking out on a later one, as they were meant to have solved it with upgraded sensors

Sorted. I swapped the two sensor control boxes over and the fault moved over to 7-12 cylinder warning light. Fitted a new "black box" £150 cash and the fault has gone. Had a great day at Donnington.Spent this morning cleaning the dust off the Horse.
Cheers lads !!
