I hope you won't be disappointed. Your car features....
On a point of order (and geekiness) if yours is the white/blue one then it is R040/002 I think (from memory - I'm not at home to check up) in the same way mine is R048/010. R002 belongs to no less than Gordon Murray.
Indeed, thanks for the correction. Here is the chassis plate LCC040/R002.On a point of order (and geekiness) if yours is the white/blue one then it is R040/002 I think (from memory - I'm not at home to check up) in the same way mine is R048/010. R002 belongs to no less than Gordon Murray.
And whilst I am at it, here are a few pictures of some of the lovely details on the car.
This is the fuel cell that is inside the chassis frame, where normally the second seat would be.

Rather late to the thread but Rockets are in short supply but I can confirm that the long awaited book is just about ready. I started it in 2011. Worth the wait though as it has details of all 48 cars (the original 46 and the 2 Chris Craft pulled out of the hat in 2016-17). Which means that R013 is the only one missing from the running order of R001-R049.
Great news. Looking forward to getting a copy!Alipapa said:
ordered on Book depository, but the status remains "Awaiting publication"
Says the same on Amazon. You need to order directly from the publisher.
My copy is on its way (currently sitting in DHL's Cambridge depot, according to their tracking ).

Received my copy this week and will have a serviced and MOTd Rocket back in the garage in the next few days!
Also just received my book too. It's absolutely fantastic; a joy to read the backstory and see how the car came to life. And it is beautifully produced. A huge congratulations to Clive Neville, the author, for a fantastic job.Edited by Ligne on Friday 6th November 22:24
Once lockdown ends I will definitely want to take mine out for another cold, winter blast.....
Looks like the book will be available on amazon December 22nd? Marked as 130 USD and free shipping, basically same price after factoring currency conversion for international buyers.

Love the pictures you have all posted, I especially like the look of that owner's edition! One day I hope I can order/buy my own Rocket and join the club, I think there are only 2 or 3 cars in North America- all red.

Looking forward to reading my book but I have to wait as it's a Christmas present.
The Rocket has a big place in my car life and some fantastic memories. Chris Craft is my Uncle and I was lucky enough to work on the launch of original car when I was 19 and then later own one from 2007 until 2015, drove about 2000 miles a year in it all over Europe.
In the end I could no longer justify keeping it and was sad to let it go. It's still the best fun you can have on 4 wheels. Well done to Clive on finally getting the book published!
I recently found these pictures I took in back in 1991 of the original prototype I think taken just prior to the launch event.
