engine rebuild wise - isn't it fundamentally the same engine as that of a 550 and they are reckoned to be bullet proof. The window issue - didn't I read that it's several £000 a side to sort?....Mark Collins reckons it can be a problem with 550s too....

Has anyone any thoughts on the difference in running costs between a 3200 and a 456? I've been lurking here for a while whilst thinking of buying a 3200. It seems to me the 456 would be pretty similar on running costs and maybe 10k more to buy but I've no practical experience of either.

But as the 456 is likely to depreciate less the total cost of ownership (if you get a good one) could be fairly similar - well that's the argument I will use with the wife when I come to change my 3200.

The issue I would have is whether the 456 can be used as an everyday car. I have had the 3200 since January and it can easily cope with my everyday mileage (7-8K pa). I would not be keen to run 2 cars because you end up spending all your time in the boring daily driver.

Even if it's mechanically up to being used as an everyday car you have the problem of leaving it parked. 456s are far less attention grabbing than other Ferraris but I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable parking one in a multi-storey.

I dont think the price of 456's will get too much lower for quite a while so you shouldnt loose too much if you only keep it for a few years.

If you can afford the fuel bills the 456 in GTA guise at least would make a fine everyday car.
