Been talking to West London Audi today on this car. Its more than I wanted to pay for one but looks a minter with low miles long story short it's not red it has super low miles and the bits I want. All I have managed to get is 1k off screen price not sure if this is worth pursuing or simply wait until first few months of 2018 when its cold miserable!! It is however the best priced R8 Spyder if you compare mileage spec and year available at present from trade
looks like a nice car to me, not sure its particularly cheap... my gut feeling is a lot of stuff will be cheaper next year, did you see the other thread with the 90k Mclaren? i've watched Porsche leicester steadily discount a 991 .1 GTS till it sold, a couple of turbos i've been watching are still forsale after 3 months... theres a shortage of buyers at this end of the market thats for sureBeen talking to West London Audi today on this car. According to Cazana this car was for sale (is for sale?) at £86,000? http://www.marshall.co.uk/audi/used-cars/7934783-a...

He said it was the same as that car (and sent me the spec of that to review) He didn't say it was the 86k one though unless they have got tired of marketing at inflated and someone has made a call to let it go sub 80k so I do wonder if indeed it's the same car with 6k off?

I always thought they were very reliable, I just picked up a couple of comments and maybe incorrectly read , expensive to repair and the one reply saying a car for sale needed 7k worth of work doing. I also read that clutches don’t last very long.
My 360 is Manual and very very good, as is my Boxster S , just started to really fall for the more modern lines and feel of the R8, I didn’t used to much care for them, I would like a red one as I think it really suits the design, maybe the latest double clutch, PDK type gearbox also.
I think forums are (mostly) filled with stories of woe - rarely do you get threads about the car’s reliability. Generally they are reliable, compared to other supercars probably the most reliable but when they go wrong they are expensive to fix - goes with the super car label. I would also disagree on the clutch reliability - they are reliable but if you get a used one where the car’s been ragged, you could get clutch issues but this goes for all cars, not just an R8.My 360 is Manual and very very good, as is my Boxster S , just started to really fall for the more modern lines and feel of the R8, I didn’t used to much care for them, I would like a red one as I think it really suits the design, maybe the latest double clutch, PDK type gearbox also.

I still find it very strange that Audi apparently took this car in part-ex or whatever and it turned out to be a complete lemon.
I don't for one minute. How many time have you gone into a dealership, asked for a P/X price and the salesman hasn't given the car more than a cursory glance? The truth is, a good number of salespeople have no mechanical knowledge whatsoever. Here is a pic of my R8 V10 spyder i picked up last friday at reading Audi. You wont regret it the sound is orgasmic especially with the roof down. To be fair i have just fitted a capristo exhaust! however even stock it sounded great. Mine is S-tronic gear box alot better then R-tronic. My mate in his aventador (in pic) thought the R8 felt just as quick. So for the money i really think its great value if you can get the V10 with s-tronic box
