i'm hoping the manual cars attract a premium long term (particularly the more beautiful if less quick gen 1 ) :-)
I reckon Gen 1 manuals are attracting a slight premium over the R-tronics, say £1k-£2k.It's never black and white but generally I think that's a fair trend assessment

i think long term a manual will be a great buy, the gen2s will continue to push the gen1 prices down as its just a better car all round (looks are subjective) and i can't see a gen2 or indeed a gen3 ever having a manual box or more worryingly a NA v10!It's never black and white but generally I think that's a fair trend assessment
Hi Barrie
Appreciate your due diligence, caution and advice seeking... Its a big sum to spend
Ref the buying process - quite often its the sellers credentials (manufacturer/back up) that can seal the deal, no matter how
good initially the car is..
If you would consider the coupe, totally different proposition I know and possibly a tick on your list that cant be ignored, there
is a car for sale that is sublime
Checkout Stafford Audi. Its a V10 manual in red with black. Its only covered 2500 miles from new, has never been wet and is totally
and fantastically factory brand new! Its vendor is obviously an Audi main dealer, offering the peace of mind re warranty and after sales.
The price has crept down the last few weeks and I reckon a deal could be had! Surely a classic in the making A V10 lump, bright red, 3 pedals,
absurdly low miles and as near to brand new as you will find...
Cheers Jon

Hi all thanks I didn't mess about trying to save a few quid plus they were fair with my part ex so went for it as not many spyder s tronic facelifts 5.2 under 70k to be had so in the end a main dealer beat the smaller guys and guess what customer service has been spot in already
Congrats - and to open top driving with a decent engine + quattro. Many thanks all I have posted the video link. Big step for me spending this sort of money on a car but hey ho! https://youtu.be/gxNHxgbQcyM
Although I wished they would shut the windows in the rain!!

i am green with envy tbh, as i perused that car (online) and was tempted. V10 manual with all the rare toys/carbon. i dont think you;ll go far wrong there. its the wrong colour thou, its not sepang blue, but being fair i'll do you a straight swap for my V8 lol!
enjoy, and hope to see it at some events next season!

"It must be manual and it must be red"
*buys S-tronic Ibis White R8*
Enjoy in good health.[/quyep ote] yep i strayed from the path that choice was based on gen 1 as i never thought i could get s tronic facelift from main dealer at similar money so white is cool with me!! I see your point though does seem a quick turnaround

i've been given details of a super car event next spring in the Isle of Man, i'm awaiting full details but its a package including ferry, accom, and a trackday if wanted, plus a hillclimb sprint up a closed road, and then a mountain run over the TT course (no speed limits on the mountain section).
this will be going on our FB page shortly, but would be cool if a few R8 owners fancy 3 days away?
I've driven the IOM mountain course numerous times, and it really will suit the R8. we can all hook up (not literally!) in a decent hotel etc and basically drive the cars properly as they should be. i'm thinking you bring this glorious V10 and i shed tears its not mine lol
