£200K to spend......suggestions on a post card?
Discussion
My view:
£100k on a 12C (best looking Macca),
£ 10K on a manual E46 M3 (not quick but what a chassis!),
£ 20k on an Evo VI TME (handles like on rails and won't depreciate),
£ 25k on a N/A Cayman S (slow version of the 12C for days when you want to enjoy a car at less than 100mph),
£ 25k on a tuned 600bhp Nissan Skyline GTR (R32) to re-live those old Play Station years!
That leaves you with £20k to spend on visiting every European Circuit for a track day including some tuition so that you can get the best out of all of the above!
Much better than blowing £200k on a single car that will not cover all your needs and WILL depreciate.
The above are actually 5 of my current 10 car fleet so here speaks the voice of reason!

I've recently sold both my 911's with the intention of getting into a 991.1 GT3 RS, and this will more than likely be my next car. However, given that the market for this model currently looks flat, and prices are falling, I'm trying my hardest to hold back just a little until I spot a degree of stability. This of course is much easier said than done when one has the cash available and there are so many shiny cars calling to me!
So, by way of distraction, with a firm budget of £200K what would you buy??
Buy a 991.1 GT3 RS if that's the car you really want. The market is so unstable at the moment what ever you buy will carry depreciation risk on top of the dealers margin, so either buy the GT3 RS, or only spend half of your wedge and minimise your loss. So, by way of distraction, with a firm budget of £200K what would you buy??
Stick £100k in a decent account and buy a Vantage V12s, they look pretty stable given the luke-warm reception of the new Vantage. The V12s is a closet hot-rod and is still effortlessly beautiful :- https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

^ this. If you're depreciation sensitive, anything in the 200-ish bracket is at risk to a greater or lesser extent currently (and for a while too) imo.RamboLambo said:

Not driven one but I'm imagining the gearbox may be something like that on the M3 CSL? Still one of my favourite cars.
Way better ! Faster and better sensation without being jerky. Spot on for a track focussed car and still useable in town. Also glorious soundtrack

OK, I know that was years ago but has their reliability improved?

agree, the gearbox is pretty good. I have done about 12k km this year in it including everything from city traffic, autobahn, mountain roads to track days. I prefer it to the dual clutch box in the FF.
I prefer it to both my McLaren and Lambo DCT's and way better than the standard F1 or e-gear. Its kind of raw and a good feeling of changing gear but fast without being so fast its seemless. Its the main reason why I prefer 430 scuderia to challenge stradale.Gassing Station | Supercar General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
