Although Porsche have remained true to their roots with their focused sports car division (GT cars) more than most other manufacturers by retaining naturally aspirated engines and 'manuel' transmissions on their cars giving those of us interested in driver involvement exactly what they wanted.

Unlike e.g. McLaren btw.
Well it's a good job we all like different things isn't is.

Again to repeat myself, Porsche do make some fabulous cars, but they are only able to do that because they sell thousands of SUV's, They are now a general car manufacturer with a specialist division.

Good to see Ferrari truly competing again. It will also keep the competition on their toes.

I really hope Ferrari finally move to full carbon construction, ala McLaren and Aventadore. Light weight is everything when it comes to handling. I'd be very interesting in buying one then.

the aventador is anything but light cf or no cf. and the huracan is a hybrid cf/aluminium chassis and it's heavier than a 488....

I am curious av185 - how many ferraris have you owned to say there is no driver involvement ? I own a couple and I‘d say my FF if more involving than a turbo and my Scuderia is more involving than the Gt2 I owned .... happy to be corrected though by somebody with more experience ....

Completely agree about the weight and handling of the Aventadore. My point was only that it uses full CF.

The handling and weight point applies to the McLaren. I should have expressed it more clearly.

My point being Ferrari need to catch up and use CF construction. Lotus did bonded aluminium construction in road cars 20 years ago.

Hi I have owned a 458 Italia a few years back and part owned an F12 TDF and really enjoyed them both. Both incredible cars at what they do although clearly totally different to Porsche GTs.

Hopefully a Pista may be on the cards but I am not holding my breath for obvious reasons!

very lovely colour - my 355 was silver (silver just works on most cars imo)

fair enough, I can't opine on the 458 but still think the Scuderia feels more involving (very different though no doubt) than the GT2 did (although the manual transmission clearly helps a lot, esp when going slower).

If I had the money, I would probably have a barn full of cars including many Porsches ....

Edit to add: Had a Pista on track with me this summer. It certainly was very fast (better driver too) and looked quite good. Good luck getting one, am sure it will be a special car
