True but most rolling roads read differently lots always a fair bit higher than factory figures but I am happy I had it done..... You are right def worth doing!

Sounds about right. The rear bumper has to be removed and that's a job in itself.

I’ve partially released my rear bumper to replace some of the rivnuts in the chassis box section where fixings had snapped off, after the “amazing” care at the Audi main dealer service.

I’d be amazed if it took 12 hours. Probably if you were blindfolded and had drunk 20 cans of scrumpy jack.

I have a 2016 Audi R8 V10 and have significant oxidisation in the engine bay predominantly on the Throttle Flaps. The car is less than 3 years old so I took it to my Audi dealer who said it was a fault.
2 weeks later when booked in, Audi Technical in Germany and Audi UK have said this is normal due to environmental influence and will not rectify. Apparently itis normal for the new R8 to get oxidisation. Has anyone else had this problem?

I would ask this question on R8talk.com - infinitely more owners and therefore knowledge on there.

Hi all

For those who have had a re-map done are Audi willing, subsequently, to maintain and service the car? I'm thinking of having it done - but I don't want to destroy the sales and service credibility of my car.

Many thanks all

Yes I’ve taken my v10 to Audi... they couldn’t detect the remap, but still managed to mangle two under trays and a wheel liner... oh and not remove all of the oil drains.

They took my 600 quid quite happily.

They must hate customers who have their own ramp.

You should be fine.

Upgrading the Transmission software is the most effective upgrade mapping wise you can do.

Assuming you have an r-tronic of course. The s-tronic is more than adequate from stock and the manual requires nothing other than a silly grin.

Thanks chaps smile

Apart from the well known uselessness of various Audi dealerships (anyone got a good word to say for Swindon and/or Tetbury?) seems like the remap shouldn't cause Audi to refuse to service.

Happily, I don't have to worry about the transmission. My R8's are both manuals. So no need. Just the engine related bits.Mind you, I'm already not good enough to be the driver of a V10...

Cheers

I get my R8 serviced by Ricky at RE Performance in Swindon and although that is a 150 mile round trip, based on experiences of other Audi dealers I'd rather take it to Ricky than a dealer!

However when Ricky also MOT'ed my car, he used Swindon Audi.

Hi smile

Ricky is about a 10 mile trip for me! He's had a play with my V8. I'd like to give it to him, and the V10, a lot more. The annoying bit is being ripped off by shark featured taxis getting to and from his place...

Tell you somebody else good in Swindon: Platinum Alloys - for that time when you kerb the thing... Very impressed with them.

I will post on Thursday night my results... Should be interesting being same day results on the same rolling rd as it won't matter if its optimist or pessimistic it will show a before and after map BHP readout.
Always had a slight suspicion of RRs.

I agree that ambient conditions will be the same but given the art not science of converting WHP to BHP would it not be possible to have program A and B which are used for pre-map and post -map

If you have a claim (if its under warranty) I can assure you, they will detect it when they check.
Its time stamped, mileage, the lot. Even if flashed back to standard, they will see the whole history.
Trust me, I'm speaking from experience.

Agree, impossible to make invisible but they won’t find it or even look for it unless you are unlucky and some major engine issue requires diagnosing

What happened may I ask?

Lamborghini dealers check every Huracan through the doors for evidence of mileage manipulation to allow them to void the warranty and blacklist the car.

I'd be surprised if Audi didnt do the same with R8s whilst also checking for evidence of remaps, certainly for any car in for warranty work.
