Was travelling a back lane towards Godalming from Dunsfold yesterday and passed a veyron against an embankment. Couldn't really see how much damage but all airbags had gone off.First time I've ever seen a veyron and it's bent !!

Yes, I was passing yesterday and clocked the reg. Seems like the owner has a habit of crashing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3ijuSOnTv4

I certainly wouldn't be in a rush to invite him back to any track days or Vmax tests.

I originally assumed it was brake fade (v heavy car), but the youtuber/passenger said the driver simply did not brake hard.

Wow!

And nor did he take the easy escape to the left.

Lame crash, wonder how much that cost to fix
The guy must be a really, really crap driver to have not braked hard enough or steered left. I'm sure the Veyron would have been up to changing direction had he attempted it what with all it's computers and stuff on board

The alternative is that when driving consistently at very very high speeds (the video quotes 200+), the driver thought they were going much much slower than they were and didn't need to slow any more.

I don't need to think how fast im going - my car tells me the speed via a numerical display and/or dial. Perhaps Bugatti should fit one of those - just in front of the steering wheel is quite a popular place. biggrin

I've been caught out pulling into a service station after several hours at 160 - odd kph on a dead straight highway.
I lifted off, braked to what felt like walking pace, and turned into the entry waaay too fast.

I’m sure you have however this driver had ample time to turn left but didn’t have the reactions to do so which smacks of inexperience

I get the continuously at high speed point as when you are sitting high speeds for long times, it does take a little to adjust/is easy to get caught out (when not looking at the speedo....) - not sure a short acceleration run on a runway event qualifies for that excuse though ....
