2001 3200 GTA. 25,000 miles. In good cond (apart from kerbed rims) and recently serviced.

How much do people think?

Please be gentle.

Part ex against what - or private sale?

I reckon £ 25K from a dealer (tops) £27 -28K private.

sounds exactly the same as mine sek. I could have got 25k part ex against a 32k car or 23k from a main dealer on the weekend.

Sounds like I'm in pretty much the same place as you. Options are to trade now or wait a year or so in the hope that used Gransports will depreciate faster.

On the topic of keeping it, what have you discovered about the 420bhp upgrade in terms of cost, durability and insurance? Provided it doesn't kill the transmission etc, that sounds pretty attractive.

My understanding is that the gearbox is exactly the same as the one in the Ferrari 456 so it can certainly handle more power

£800 to increase power to 420bhp? Tempting.

Can the autobox handle that?

Where do I sign? No details on Verdi's website.

Traction control shouldn't be an issue, although it will get more work! Tyres probably another story, especially in sport mode (or ASR off mode).

An exhaust and chip are hardly at the heady heights of car modification. I think it's rude not to do such mods, given the relatively cheap outlay for the improvements you get (performance, sound).

Nope - I'm in the first one - they've not done this to a 3200 before.... Drop me a mail and I'll get you all the details (probably quicker than ringing Verdis at the moment as they are rushed of their feet!)

the car shoudl be running at around 430bhp. (in the region of 280 bhp/tonne at a rated weight or around 1525 kg - up from 237 bhp/tonne - figures calculated from EVO)

What that would mean in terms of performance Im not entirely sure.

Power up just over 16% should mean top speed up just over 5% (cube law relationship between top speed and power), so if top speed before was 172mph you should be able to top 180mph when you're done!

You should only need 580bhp to hit the double ton - go on, you know you want to! Though you might need a bit more space than is available at Brunters!

Guys this tuning compay LeNardo / Dimex do tuning for the 3200 GT,s. Their power out put is 450 BHP from chipping and exhaust upgrade and with turbo's upgrades over 500 BHP. Their maserati accessories look the best from any I have seen. Seen this actuaul car at Stanford hall two years ago. Very good looking.
