Hi,

I'm moving to London at the end of Feb for 12 months.

I've been looking at several rental properties, however I've noticed the lack of parking with most apartments.

A - Is there any website out there where people post available car parking spaces for let, preferably a secured / closed space?

B - Is there any companies that specialise in a similar service? I understand there are a few 'car storing' facilities but I would like to be able to take my car out 1-2 times a week?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

In the past I did a combination of parking on the road and renting spaces in larger garages (usually can be done with a 3 months minimum rental period) there was also a parking space rental webpage, where you could rent spaces from private individuals - forgot what it was called though

I think you should figure out where you are living first as London is a big place then consider what and where to park it

It would be daft to commit to a car and parking at one end of town and have to travel an hour or two to get the car out of storage and then out of town

I might have a space in Belsize Park if that's near you? Not covered but secure in a Private block.

PM if interested

Thanks all.

I’m looking at Shoreditch, Bank, or further South West.

I want to go for a secured garage type space or at the very least a space that is secured 24hrs.

How much are you willing to pay for it?

I’ve no idea how much one should cost.

A similar space in Dublin City costs €125pm.

I’m sure they’ll be a lot more expensive in London.

For a couple of years I rented a space in a secure 24-hour underground car park on Chancery Lane, owned by the company in the building above. Got it through a midtown commercial property agent. Agents know what's available, worth speaking to one or two.

Btw, south west of Bank is quite a wide area - are you thinking somewhere specific?

My office is in Shoreditch, so I would like somewhere in walking distance really, from an apartment perspective.

I'm only over for 6 to 12 months.

Thanks Johnny, that would be ideal, but I think that is storage only, and not somewhere you can pop in and out of at your leisure on a weekly basis?

Just saw this thread so hope you don’t mind me dropping by. I park my car in a secure underground space in islington. It costs me £175 per month. I recently looked at the classic car club storage. It’s a great place (and some of the cars there are stunning) but it’s more suited to long-term storage, rather than somewhere you can pop along to and take your car out for a spin and then pop it back.

There are quite a few garage-to-rent websites for central London so it’s worth checking those out when you know where you’ll be based.

As others have suggested, your best bet would be to keep an eye on the various parking space rental websites and apps. There's usually a good few secure underground spaces available in various car parks beneath large new residential developments across London. Do go and visit the space before agreeing to anything as sometimes supercar access and manoeuvrability is less than ideal.

Alternatively take a walk around the area near your office and go and speak to the concierges at these kind of developments (most have some kind of concierge or reception desk), and ask if they know of any parking spaces available in the building.

given Shoreditch is North East, most of the rest of London is SW smile

If you really mean SW (Fulham/Putney etc) there are many modern blocks of flats with underground car parking

They’re quite flexible, but also fairly strict on opening hours. Give them a call!
