WHAT THE F A C K HAS BEEN GOING HERE?? Out of the office for a copule of days and look what happens.
I love a good RUCKUS!!!!

Anyhow - I DO go the gym and I'm a 5% bodyfat RIPPED bastard to boot. I adore the old Ferraris and I adore the new ones too.

Radial Valve - despite your quite obvious spoiling for a ruck - I actually DO agree with you TO A POINT. The Murcie got 1 star for being too easy to drive - the New Lambo had lost something (didn't I report something similar when I drove it?)

My point?
The new Ferraris have lost NOTHING by being easier to drive - (Castex - that's why you see more of them on the road mate - that and the fact that they are simply more plausible as a driving propositon. - this percieved "loss of exclusivity" is something that I was considering).

- Back to you Rectal Valve (jus' kidding!!! ) - With the new Ferraris any potential satisfaction-loss has been offset by greater driving pleasure - this was not the case with the Lambo..
And no I don't steal quotes from ads.
I *try my best* to DRIVE/OWN the cars that I pass judgment on.
You previously attacked me for "not having any purchasing integrity" too - personally mate I think that only an asshole likes to give the impression that he can buy pretty much ANY car on the market even if he can. I'm not one of these people - and the wherewithal to purchase a car shouldn't figure on a debate about what people think of it.

P.S. -F**K Ferraris for a second - 456MGT and Ninja are some of the biggest hearted people I've ever met in my life.

P.P.S. Keep if friendly guys - we're only having a laugh.

Sorry Manu, but no. This site is pretty unique- have a banter with people, learn about all sorts of things and take the piss. A few minutes on this site does wonders for your stress levels . But it's rarely personal, and if it is, it's between people who know each other. FerrariChat tried to ignore this stuff in the hope it would go away, and several of the people you want to hear from are now leaving it. A few snide posts from a handful of people and the mood of the whole site has changed. Not going to sit back & let that happen here.

Radial Valve, I was going to have a pop right up until a few minutes ago. But then it would simply have got more personal. Well that's no bloody good is it. It's sometimes easy to forget that there are real people behind these usernames.

Instead, I'd like to buy you a drink- might even stretch to two as long as it's not those things with the umbrellas in them that Manu was buying for the girl in the pub. The one with the snake.

Email me through my profile, or, if you can make it, come along to one of the meets and we'll have beer and a natter. You may find a gulf between your likes and those of others, but so what if there is? Incidentally, I doubt this. With your insight into the motor trade you'll have an interested audience.

I have yet to meet a PHer I didn't like and would rather maintain that record.

Regards

Kevin

Hey guys, I've watching this one simmering for a while. Blimey, What's going on? I'd just like to re-iterate what has already been said re Ninj & 456 - I'd never met them before, then a couple of months ago we met up for a drive. Top guy's, friendly, & car nuts - just the way we like our PH'ers. Lets chill huh? Now when's the next blinking drive? My car is now officially LOUD. It needs to be heard

I agree with trackdemon. I have met both of them on several occasions and they are a great people. They have shown that they both love cars even if they are worth £1.
Fun can be had by a bit abuse to those you have met (hey Dom and Manu and your lady friends)but insult to others is a bit over the top.

I personaly think it's a good thing that parts have gone up, Ferrari has become available to more and more people to the point of being a bit common, this should bring back some of the badges elitisim that it quite rightly demands.

Hello Fellow PH'ers,
I don't believe it! Wot's happened. I totally agree with the quotes about this site being really great. A real shame to read this thread. After the VW meeting last month seeing all the different Marques of car's lined up and chatting to lots of other folks all with such a passion for what they drive, I find it hard to let others spoil this site. We, real enthusiasts don't compare our cars for the Wealth or status they maybe "perceive" to represent, I for one have not been "lucky" enough to own a Ferrari, I work F hard, as do many of the other owners I know. It's a question of priorities, drink, smoke, play golf, eat lots etc.. I'd love to do all of 'em. But I live for my passion of cars (Yes sad I know) but like many other's I love to share my experiences etc. and meet really great guy's like Manu, Ajay, Kevin, who all have a passion for their cars. "One Man's Wine is another man's Poison" or some Bollox I once heard. Just because a person drove a particular car and maybe did not like it, should make no difference on this site, we all have opinions. But throwing personal insults around will spoil the great Chat and Banta we all love. Come on all you "Real" PH'ers lets not lower the tone and allow Jealousy to creep in.

'nuff said.
Respect
G.

And what Prancing neglected to mention was that he premiered his 456 with the Hamann at VW. Waltzes in, has a quick chat with Manu & Ajay then a couple of weeks later his car sounds WAY better than mine. But am I bitter? What, after spending 6 FG months researching it, dropping quite a few quid on the system, having the sod sent over from Germany, finding a garage to fit it? Nooooo

Hey 456mgt

You are so right. This has all got out of hand.

Me, the famliy, and some mates are on our annual month long "end of season" de-camp to Albi in France for a month with a van full of knackered bikes (ex-dispatcher Blade, 900 Ninja, 748 and a gixer) We usually give bikes a good send off on the Circuit d'Albi (not too busy this time of year)

I would love the opportunity to bore you to death with the lies about track times etc. upon my return.

If you have never driven on the N roads in this fantastic part of France. YOU MUST.

I might even put a thumbnail sketch of a run down next year with a bunch of hardened PHers like yourself in mind.

What's happening to me? I might be becoming a warm hearted reasonable Human Being rather than a fifty year old cantankerous git that's been spannering cars for too long.

It's amazing what the offer of a couple of pints can do.

Lets do ths thing.

As Paul Simon said "This is my one shot at redemption"

Back from the 11th November onward.

he he he, return to the thread subject! Personally, I think the fact that they are becoming more common is *probably* due to the increase in reliability, rather than cost. Also, I don't think parts costs will have a huge effect on people buying them, and if it did it would probably make the cars cheaper, and then someone would buy them, hence factoring in the increase in the price of the parts. As its the owners and buyers who will definitely lose out, its not a good thing in my book.

TrackDemon, what did you do to your car, don't tell me you got a tubi??? Shame you didn't make it to Virginia waters, would have been nice to hear it. Notice we STILL haven't received any video clips from that day......MANU YOU LAZY GIT STOP WATCHING :cough:ERR, :cough: AHEM, :coughnearlychoking: "OFF TOPIC", VIDEOS AND GET IT SORTED!! There was a nice clip of your car flying past on full song, sounded bloody loud too!

Guy, Manu has had me in absolute stitches after Thursday and I haven't stopped laughing since a certain conversation with him (Ajay knows what I am on about) day of the Virginia Waters meet. The latter I can reveal no details, but the former will be released to you when we next meet. Manu must be the funniest purve around!!, bar NONE. Once you think thats it, it can't get worse, Manu will go and prove you wrong!!!!!!

Kevin, at this rate you'll be recommended as a negotiator, perhaps you can talk to Saddam?

Seriously though, I'm sure we would all normally get on fine, sometimes though in the midst of an "argument" one gets a hint of tunnel vision and sticks to their guns as it were, and it gets difficult to notice that it might be taken personally. As Kevin says, I've never come across a PHer that I don't like, and I definitely mean the ones that I haven't even met yet.

Radial Valve, have a good time and get some action shots if you can, I think we'll all agree that looking at some good piccies does your health wonders when you're in the office!

p.s. I'll add myself to that "interested audience" list by the way.

OH, nearly forgot: Do we all get some PH nametag tattoos on our arses or what? .

Just this moment one thought and one word springs to my mind and has put me into painful hysterical laughter, alas its a shame I can't share it with you guys!...

Manu you are one of the funniest guys I have ever met. Please tell me you have a copy of the emails you sent me as I had to delete them?

Regards

Would YOU rather buy a 250GTO rather than a 360?

Good God YES!!!

the 250GTO '63 model is the greatest car of all time and will never be bettered

It was the F40 of it's day except it won EVERYTHING it entered.

355, 360, 550 are great AND I also believe are more drivable on a daily basis than most of the old Ferrrais and that is the ONLY difference.

If I had a 360 as well as my GT4 I'd drive the 360 ALL the time (with Tubi) and drive the GT4 when I wanted to hear the beautiful sound of multiple carbs and a screaming exhaust which wins hands down over a Tubi (sorry Ajay and Manu )

The older cars are harder to steer, hot (I live in OZ), and don't have the dynamics of the newer cars but I for one could not have a new Ferrari if I wasn't able to have an older Ferrari for a totally different sensation.

I hope this thread doesn't turn into the arguments they are having in Ferrarichat, eh Manu ?

Hey John - thanks for backing me up on Ferrarichat - My God - I've had some unbelievable arguments on that website - about everything from "which is the best weight training supplement" to the USA's stance on Iraq... yes - all on Ferrarichat.
I really rather like the website 'cos I love a good ruckus.

Ninja - No I am NOT a perve - - No I am not a "funny guy" (think Joe Pesci in Goodfellas) and NO I am not your friend and YES I do hate you.

Hi everyone. I've just been introduced to this site from 308gt4. I'm a brit living in Oz, and I've got 15 years Ferrari maintenance, restoration and racing history.

I also own a 1979 512BB which is my point of interest here. I see that early on in this thread, someone thought 40k was ok for a Boxer. Well, my one is currently for sale at KHPC (my dad also happens to be a saleman there). The KHPC price of nearly 40k includes all the little detail jobs done, and warranty etc etc. My point is that you can buy it from me directly for MUCH less that that price. It really is a good car and it's only my job in Oz (clue in nickname) that keeps me here and not using it frequently at club and track events in UK like I did before I left.

please email me if you or someone you know has a genuine interest to get a truly great car for a song.

Getting back slightly onto Manu's topic - Just seen this in Evo..

Fiat are laying off over 8000 people in Italy - more than 20% of their italian workforce, including closure of the Sicily plant (1800 staff). All Fiat Group workers likely to strike tomorrow. Fiat stock is at a 20-year low. Fiat Auto is running at an estimated operating loss of 1.2 billion euros for this year - and the job cuts will only save them about 250m euros. They haven't made a profit since 1997 - and going on the current range, they're never likely to.

Ninja,

Just came across this thread today, and read your comments. How right you are - I totally agree with every word you say.

We can add the Miura to the list of leg stretchers too - truckers only...
