Not a fan of Lambo’s normally but that looks fantastic !

Not sure who Peter Saywell is but Christmas knows what the people cleaning his cars are doing.
Google him under Goodwood charity super car track days or You tube

The first Diablo SE30 I ever saw was Peter Saywell's at a trackday at Goodwood in the 90s.

I'm trying to remember if it was a Jota. Think I do recall the roof scoops, but it was a long time ago.

Just to update - after the radiator/fan passenger side was replaced in early May before the original warranty expired (for the second time in 4 months) the car has been faultless and still impresses when pushing on.
New tyres all round after some hunting around fitted at around £1,300 as opposed to the rather obscene £5,400 quoted by my main dealer.
Minor service done at main dealer just as they reopened after covid lockdown at £1,500.
Driven almost every day since purchase in early November 2019 at 1,300 miles, now on 7,500 miles.
To extend the official warranty is £6,600 for a year, yet to make a decision on this.
Downside looking at 3 points hopefully not more after some spirited driving, unmarked copper in a 2013 3 series grey coupe!! in Brentwood in Essex.
Was rather shocked to say the least, assumed it was someone egging me on as he was close to my rear and not hanging around, I now am very cautious who is behind me. Other than that, am still happy and impressed.

Thanks for the updates - fantastic looking car.

On the last point, I'm pretty sure if you request the on-board police car video you may have a case against the police especially if they were driving too close to you.

Yup, same thing happened to me, of course I should have just slowed down and see what transpired but didn’t :-( , obviously a common tactic these days

Having two rear view mirrors sometimes gives them away.

Yep, duress of circumstances springs to mind.

Really ? Surely that's provocation and entrapment and not in the spirit of the law. You always get people egging you on and shouting rev it and send it etc...
Sometimes even I play to the crowd just a teeny weeny bit. Not excessive but sometimes its better than having a confrontation cus you don't accommodate their request

I won't divulge too much info on an open forum but I did struggle to keep my mouth shut and not get angry but at the end of the day I was going rather over the limit in a 30 and well over in the 50 (country lane, perfect road conditions, no overtaking, no traffic etc) just wrongly assumed the 3 series coupe behind me was a youngster also having some fun down the same roads.....
I was genuinely shocked when those lights/sirens came on..
Got the paperwork through the other day and at least the copper was true to his word and done me for 50 in a 30 (offer of 3 points and 100 fine) rather than the speed I was doing in the 50 section of the road which I was told would of been a fair bit more serious...
Had a clean licence for over 16 years now and got away with properly enjoying supercars for the last 6 years so it was a matter of time really.....

Had a great day out with the Drivers Union today doing approx 225 miles in a day - Romford-Hatfield-Braintree-Colchester-Frinton-onSea- Romford,
approx 30 cars in total (20 mclarens, 3 Lambos (red Av SV, green Av SVJ and my black Av S, 6 ferrari's and a monster of a modified 550bhp flame spitting old school white rear wheel drive 964 turbo with a competent driver....good times!

No lie, I forgot to fill up the night before and visited 2 petrol garages in a day, both times empty to max fill, after today it is near empty again!
225 miles in 2 full tanks (ok I was on it most of those miles) but it could really of done with a larger tank.

Hell of a car though... and seemed to be a liitle faster in a straight line than the SV which I was surprised at (maybe slipstream makes a difference?)

Stay safe out there and beware of unmarked Plod!

Good to hear these cars can be enjoyed still! As long as your experienced enough and relatively sensible I dont see the issue.. I'd imagine there may well have been a police car frantically trying to find where the screaming V12's were coming from.

If I was lucky enough Id be up every Sunday 5am and heading up to the borders without fail!

That fuel economy is a joke, it would probably be enough for me to discount the car completely, other than the main reason, which is I'm poor hah

Thats not even trying hard enough you can easily get down to double digits If the road allows, think my lowest was low 70’s for a tank, as a reference point a huracan will use less than half the fuel of an Aventador on the same drive. Basically its £100 every time you move it!

You can get 350 miles from a tank at normal speeds if you take it Pretty easy In strada on a long journey with cylinder deactivation.

The key with Aventadors is to pull the nozzle right to the top of the fuel tank almost out of it, you can get £20+ extra fuel in if you do this even though the tank says full when the pump first clicks off. Makes a massive difference to stops needed.

It's my dream car should my numbers come up, but I'd want to do a Euro trip in it but it'd take 8 fuel stops to get to the South of France!
I guess it's down to the fact it's such a large capacity, NA engine, but still! Does it have cylinder shutoff or anything?

It shuts down 6 cylinders in strada at low rpm as long as you are gentle on the throttle and also has start stop in that mode.

Better to ship it there will be a much nicer experience! Tbh fuel is the least of your worries in costs, i must have done 35,000 miles in Aventadors since they came out, great cars and never been let down by one or seen one broken down on any tours, but they are expensive to run and insure.

Cruising on a motorway in strada when it goes on half cylinders you can go a surprisingly long way.
Once you change modes and crack on, it drinks it.
But as Craig at Pangbourne says, anything else is a waste of petrol!

yeah it's pretty nuts, if you're doing 1000 miles a month with city driving it's going to cost you about £1400 or so just in fuel

I’ve probably been misinformed but I was told that overfilling a petrol tank could lead to engine damage - something to do with the charcoal canister that absorbs excess vapour being affected. I was told to never fill after the handle has clicked.
