None of the lots sold tonight. Don’t know what the other two lots got to.
Maybe the Bounce Back Loans have run out..??
I think things have cooled off personally. We’ll see.

Talking of BBL’s I got sent a vid last week of car dealer doing a 5 min monologue on Instagram about how someone rung up and said they wanted to buy a Cayman for £44k....sight unseen. To his surprise the next day the money appeared in the bank account. Luckily he was suspicious enough to check with his bank that the money couldn’t be returned. The buyer had fraudulently applied for a BBL in the name of the car dealer ! If said car dealer hadn’t checked he’d have been minus a £44k Cayman and have a £44k loan to pay off !!!!

Was tempted to put in another bid for the 550, but in the end decided to pass on it. Reserve was lowered but not met at 62k it seems.

Quite honestly, that's a daft price for a LHD Japan car with missing history. £62K is all the money and some.

There are a couple of off market 550's available through KHPC. Neither colour scheme worked for me - but they might for you. I've always found them sensible/realistic when it comes to pricing.

I don’t per se think that it is expensive, it is just that I could not be bothered to deal with the hassle of picking it up in the UK and then having to do a big service immediately, which could cost anything from 5k to 15k, then getting german tüv for a Japan car etc.

Comparable cars below - no clue what the clearing price of these would be, some of them have been listed for ages imo

Very solid service history ... 2006 and next 2017 and then no more

Seems like there are some good cars in Germany and certainly more choice.

RM Sothebys auction results incl. noteable Ferraris and desirable Porsches seem 20-30% below low estimate https://rmsothebys.com/en/home/lots/0420#

Right this makes a bit more sense that you're bidding with the intention of moving the car to a LHD country.

This confirms the assumption I'd made about the bids some of these cars have been receiving. The values between RHD and LHD ebb and flow between the UK and the continent along with exchange rates.

Right now LHD cars in the UK probably looking attractive to mainland Europe buyers, especially with a 1 to 1.1 exchange rate.

I often look on Autoscout myself. This one looks like it could be up your street.:- Leggy but a nice driver.

That green one does look very nice - I have already spent way way too much money on service costs for cars this year, so will probably stay put for now.

A lot of lots close tomorrow and there’s an Artcurial auction tomorrow too...will be interesting to see how things go. Certainly doesn’t look like prices will be strong !

Anyone wants a real steal?
Mclaren MP4-19 F1 Engine - estimate €40-60k - currently at €5.250 - and only 2.5 hours left...

No pistons or con-rods so would take a lot of work to make it usable. Now over €10K so a lot for a very cool coffee table ...

Just had a quick look at the RM online auction and it looks like a bit of a car crash at the moment.

Most of the reserve’s seem a bit daft though - still at 2015/6 frothy levels. Will have to see the results but perhaps they miscalled this and no ones bidding.

Thought the Historics Datchet auction wasn’t too bad - prices were robust bar the cars that were softening anyway.

The Artcurial results weren’t great either for the likes of Ferrari and Porsche. RM Auction does look weak.

I think the Silverstone auction will be poor....a lot of the cars haven’t been used and you would really expect to go to another collector to polish incessantly. Not sure those are the people that are buying right now.

Interesting to see that tyhis California, which sold for £70k ...

https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2010-ferrari-c...

is now back on the market at £78k ...

https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/10608278

I'd have to say that for a 2010 car it looks too expensive at that price.

And although I actually like the colour of the car, those yellow calipers look awful and really spoil its appearance.

Except the prices achieved at the last Silverstone sale seemed strong to me.

I’d agree with that...that was peak lockdown when people had nothing better to do though. At least that’s my perception.
