Thanks CRAIG ,That's why i was asking as i can't find it.,it's a shame they don't leave the last bid up
if not sold. Very few list them on a buy it now price.
If you have an account, have hit the watch button on any lot and then if the car does not sell....go into your account hit the watching button and it lists the ‘final bid’ on the car. Otherwise as you say it disappears with the high bid f you don’t have an account. You can normally still find the car by a search engine but it won’t list the high bid.

The seller on CC and Ebay are the same person. Look at the names. The CC advert should really have said trade sale, not private.
Owned by best mate of 2009 F1 champion. Ebay trade seller located same village as owner.

Price is a bit steep given it's not had its engine rebuilt yet.

Ring the Ferrari owners club. It won’t take long to track down these cars surely...

Well since you can arrange to view the car it would be a simple process to sidestep the auction process if you were confident nobody else was going to buy it. It would be easy to speak to the seller privately outside of CC's system.

You would be risking losing out to someone else who did legitimately bid though.

Thought as much, it saves a hell of a lot of money for buyer and seller!

I'm not really sure that this is the correct way to do things though is it? A little underhand and unscrupulous really. CC are spending money on advertising, marketing and providing a platform.

If the seller sells the car another way and the car isn't sold by CC the seller is potentially liable for the 6% or at least the £600 minimum.

However, I guess it is up to the seller at this point how they want to deal with it though. If they have a buyer contact them direct it is their call how to play it.

Maybe a better way for CC to do things would be to split the 6% between seller and buyer so each pay 3%.

That F430 went for a crazy good price by the looks of it

https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2009-ferrari-f...

Is it because there seems to be no documented history before 2014? Seems very cheap !

Add the 6% commission on and you are banging on the door of £60k,

First 5 years of unaccounted service history and not sure of the remainder so how can the mileage one hundred percent be verified
and take in account it's L.H.D and has the plain Jane seats ,has neither the Daytona or the Racing one's.

I was pleasantly surprised it made that much bearing in mind tonight's Headline News and it's Christmas eve,

Gave me confidence in my car which has everything this 430 hasn't got..

If your budget is below £60k it may well be a cheap way in to a 430 ,but that amount should buy you one of the very best 360's manual now

Personally i would have the manual 360 or pay another £10/£15k more for a R.H.D 430 with no stories,

What does the seller save?

As said, it’s underhand and wrong.

Although I agree its underhand and wrong, the savings are pretty clear. Both sides could split the 6k between them.

Like eBay etc if people aren't happy with the price they won't just not use the service they'll look for ways to scam them instead.

Well that £6000 could be in the sellers pocket. A buyer is having to budget for that in a purchase, and it’s dead money and goes nowhere towards the car. You are just paying an extortionate amount for someone to advertise a car.

Well, I already have a 430, that’s why I was interested in this one. When looking at what the equivalent LHD would sell for on the continent, this one is quite a bargain, esp given the exchange rate.

What is quite surprising based on your argument, is that a LHD 612 w plain seats, a bit less mileage went for close to £80k w a less than perfect history too.

Confirms the ferrari prices are even more all over the place at the moment.

When I see what the 550 I bought a year ago was advertised at vs what I paid for it, it really shows that people are still in Lalaland when it comes to valuing their own cars.

I know someone who has just bought a nice 430 F1 2006/56 TDF blue with crema/black Dayonta seats for £68k.

Lovely colour combo - correct me if I am wrong but MY 06/56 don’t come a CCM brake standards, and still have the previous generation fuel pump. Both are probably worth an additional £8-10k in value in my eyes...

If you think a maximum of 6% is expensive stay well clear of the art world. On the £200k+ stuff that happens quite often there’s a transaction cost of 3% which is insane.

Indeed lovely combo. My perfect would be TDF with Tan and manual but I still think the F1 box suits the car and engine really well. Also the F1 is actually probably the better box in the car as well IMHO.

I can only afford my 4200 but would swap for a TDF blue tan F1 for the 4200 + £25k in a heartbeat if it ever got that close!

The £68k one had carbon ceramics as well. Although I would be happy with the standard steels. Not sure about the fuel pump situation.
