If you think a maximum of 6% is expensive stay well clear of the art world. On the £200k+ stuff that happens quite often there’s a transaction cost of 3% which is insane.
Indeed I was chatting to a friend who deals mainly in stamps amongst other things. He worked at Stanley Gibbons for years and also Spink. The monies some of those stamps go for and the commissions is eye watering! Needless to say he does OK.Petrus1983 said:

My goodness, but i presume that’s for holding stock on premises not just putting up a quick advert online. Drclarke said:

Well since you can arrange to view the car it would be a simple process to sidestep the auction process if you were confident nobody else was going to buy it. It would be easy to speak to the seller privately outside of CC's system.
You would be risking losing out to someone else who did legitimately bid though.
Thought as much, it saves a hell of a lot of money for buyer and seller! You would be risking losing out to someone else who did legitimately bid though.
Both of you may be committing theft by obtaining a pecuniary advantage by deception.
Morally, obviously bankrupt.

Or buying on The Market which is the reverse of CC and the fee is paid by the seller rather than the buyer.....
It's irrelevant who pays the fee as buyer/seller take fee into account when determining reserve/final bid. What's key is that for their 5% The Market have the car on their premises and the description is a combination of information from the seller and their own inspection of the car.
That's my coffee break surf of PH over. Presents opened and now off to build Hornby train set with my son. Next year I'll get him scalextric.

Thanks. I didn't know you could view that page.
Non-buckets and high mileage, but £25k ish would probably be a fair price in my view. Nice to see one without decals and which isn't green or white.
Yep, you have to be 'Watching' the item to be able to see the final bid price. Non-buckets and high mileage, but £25k ish would probably be a fair price in my view. Nice to see one without decals and which isn't green or white.

Is the dash on that dark wood or carbon?
The pictures show it as black, but it is not clear enough to make out what material it is.
Given the user name, I am assuming that it is yours... nice looking car.
Yup, my car. It is piano black and not one I had seen on a Chimaera before. Pretty nice actually and better than the wood, metal or carbon fibre styles IMHO that seem to be the 3 main common options. The pictures show it as black, but it is not clear enough to make out what material it is.
